I support the forum's app idea. If you have budget it would be cool to develop it.

coding an app from scratch takes a lot more time than you'd think...

Inspiration/Creativity/Motivation / Re: How do you get your own style?

Seems like you're still new to producing the, just focus on what you enjoy producing, and you'll eventually consistently create a "style" that you enjoy.

I'm sure they're working on it, it's like the most needed thing on a forum

Mixing/Mastering / Re: Panning Different intances L & R

If you don't pan, you're tracks are going to sound kind of flat. When I produce, two of my goals are to make the EQ glow and the imager full.

R&A Graveyard / Re: A section for remix competitions and opportunities

It's cool, but there are so many sites dedicated to this.

Yeah but, imagine someone not well known who's searching for remixers, it's the perfect place to found some! I agree with this suggestion :)

I've seen a lot of smaller artists on Indaba, Wavo, and a bunch of other remix sites.

The site isn't really that complex, it's pretty easy just browsing it from the web browser on your phone.

My soundcloud feed, it's filled with a bunch of new artists and a lot of different genres

I usually make a few projects with a basic chord/melody/arrangement before I create something I want to work on.

Anything by 8dio is typically awesome. Some good Cinesamples stuff out there as well.

Seems cool, with it you can be manipulating space and time

Honestly though, discipline is so much more important than inspiration.

Could you elaborate? Discipline in what regard?

Discipline is something like being able to set aside any distractions and start working on a song even if you're not feeling creative.
I strongly disagree with that quote though, discipline and inspiration go hand in hand, at least for me. Without discipline, you'll NEVER finish a song, and without creativity, you'll never have a song that you are proud of. What's the point of releasing a song that you don't really like?

I don't think demanding schedules would be a problem to professionals. They see the "big picture" by discussing with many people and touring new places. They are already skilled enough to find inspirations and motivations in daily life.

Porter finds inspiration in literally everything

R&A Graveyard / Re: Introduction Thread
« on: January 08, 2016, 06:40:55 pm »
I asked mat zo this (in a pm), and he thought that that's something for social media, that this is a strictly music forum. Now, don't take my word for it, and but if he doesn't reply to this thread that's roughly his view on the site, at least regarding a "General/social" section of the forum. But as said, I'm not speaking for him! Only conveying what he said to me.

Although it might change if we're nagging enough! Personally i think it's a good idea.

Honestly, it's very hard to connect with other producers through social media... I also think if we were to have an introduction thread, we would be able to know the person better, become better friends, and thus creating better tracks with each other. Personally, I don't enjoy collaborating with other people at this stage, so I probably won't be able to become buddies with many people on this forum, since it seems like that's what it revolves around.

EP is just a mini album, you can do whatever you want with it as long as it contains more than one song
