Some resources I wish I'd seen when I was starting

As per the title.

Most of these were a HUGE lightbulb moment for me. So here you go.

Actually pay attention, learn from these, and you will have a much better time making music.

(I'll add more to this, these are the ones I remembered off the top of my head at 3am)...

John Cleese on Creativity:

The Producers Conference with The Cataracs (KSHMR):

The War of Art - Steven Pressfield

(This one is a book, I recommend the audio book - you can listen to it on double speed or something, whatever is fast but you can still take in properly).

- Don't just skip over these things or put them on a 'to do' list if you want to improve.

That KSHMR video was awesome, and I cannot recommend War of Art enough to everyone.

Co-sign "war of art" x 10000000 (and any other Steven Pressfield non-fiction book). Immensely important.

This is what did it for me

After watching this, my whole perspective on producing changed
"Immature poets imitate; mature poets steal."
-Picasso

"The reason we struggle with insecurity is because we compare our behind-the-scenes with everyone else’s highlight reel."

Casey Neistat is the guy that changed the way i look at creative field. a vlog titled "Fat and Lazy" made me realized that all the time i've spent making songs aren't really that well spent. i wasn't spending it "well". it was damn good

Varien's sidechaining tutorial is amazing. I first watched it when I was a beginner, and it made sense to me. There was no confusing rants or anything that would have made it shaky. It was clear, and it was simple. The way he explains things is very easy for beginners to understand, and I really recommend watching the video if you don't know what sidechaining is. Here's the link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRTrRa-cpyw
