Maybe try to change your practice techniques.
Grab a progressive house track or high energy track and try to recreate it or mimic it. Obviously don't copy it exactly but use it as a guidance tool. Also maybe get a progressive house sample pack that has midi files so you can learn the chord progressions. Don't be afraid to fight it. If its what you wanna make, you gotta learn how to make it.

Don't just think of the now or you will be like me. I bought what I could afford and replaced my monitors 3 times. You're room may be small now but in the future your living situation may change. If you can afford the 8s, get them.

You are welcome! Glad you got it figured out. Little things like that can drive you mad.

Ive always read that you do not want to cut them on the master, but to do it on each individual track that has frequencies going into that range.

As for not hearing those frequencies, I know you can still feel certain frequencies. And correct me if im wrong as im no expert on the issue, but i thought that even though you cant hear those frequencies, you can still feel them.

A good tip to remember.

Just because you are tired of it, doesn't mean the "consumer / listener" is or will be.

Just like anything, once you've heard it 1000 times, it gets dull. The good thing is that you got excited about it in the beginning. So one would hope that when the consumer / listener gets to hear it for the first time, they too should get excited. Remember that what you find boring might not be to the avg listener.

And I always say don't get rid of it. Save it, work on something else, and maybe some other creativity will spark and take you back to that project.

SPIRE

XComp – multiband compressor. It’s disabled when the knob is in its rightmost position;
Velocity – determines the amount of velocity sensitivity;
Volume – overall level.

Bottom right hand corner in Spire.

Velocity Modes:
● Key – each note in the arpeggio uses its own velocity value, determined by the current
MIDI note.
● Hold – all notes have the same velocity value as the first played MIDI note (until
released).
● Step – takes the velocity value from the step sequencer.
● Step+Key – takes into account both the step sequencer and MIDI note’s velocities.
● Step+Hold – takes into account both the step sequencer and the first played MIDI note’s
(until released) velocities.

You my friend... Deserve the shrine of a god.

No sir, you do. I never thought of putting a ticker on my projects. So I downloaded that too!

I'm thinking it should help me focus on staying busy and not just sitting there listening over and over.

making a different track within the track I'm working on lol

i hate that. you make an awesome melody, but it just changes the track too much, so you cant delete it and you cant keep it

Save that as 1.A and 1.B. All my new projects start off as "project 1, then project 2, ect". So I save one as project 1A or 1B when I run into this issue. Keep both of those ideas. You can delete whatever you don't use later on.

Ya know I don't know where it is on Spire either. I'll look when I get home.
As for Sylenth, I don't have it so I'm not sure.

Anyone else know where the velocity setting is in Sylenth?

Check and make sure the velocity % is on or turned up in Spire or Sylenth. Maybe it turned off because of a preset or something. I would start there first. In the meantime, I'll be thinking of what else it could be.
