I like Taylor Swift, Ellie Goulding, and Bieber´s new stuff.  I know Max Martin is behind Taylor´s stuff, and JB´s new album is ready bought, but they are good songs anyway. Yeah, and Carly Rae Jepsen.
I rarely listen to the kind of music I make, with the exception of my own tracks.

I wish.  I feel that would send my productivity through the roof!

Keep them private. Send links with download enabled to labels. Wait.

Samples/Plugins/Software/Gear / Re: NI Komplete / kontrol Spring Sale
« on: March 07, 2016, 08:01:45 pm »
Just a heads up, if NI offers these kind of sales, it's generally because the new version is coming soon.
Actually, they usually do these sales twice a year.  I don´t think that they release new versions of the whole Komplete Bundle that often.

You should just contact FL support.

. If I replace it with "some might say", will it make you feel any better? probably not

Definitely Yes! (funky, sneaky use of small fonts ;) )

It seems like it´s going to go badly for the guys at Cymatics.  It is sort of a sketchy area to call someone out on tho´.  Almost every major producer more or less encourages newbies to sample/borrow/steal drums.  I don´t think it´s OK for this douche to profit from it, but it´s a bit ironic none the less.  Hope they get burned nice and crispy.

Any tips how to better deal with this?

Just do it!
What´s the worst thing that can happen? People don´t like it?  Well, that doesn´t affect the number of fans that your music has, as the current number is zero.
Come to terms with the fact that early works will be embarrassing to look back on, but that they´re a part of the journey.  If you get better, then your earlier finished tracks will seem more basic, because you have evolved.

Also, I didn't write anything in terms of judging this community or I didn't came with any general conclusions about members of this forum, how would I? :D Read carefully, I only offered a point of view that somebody CAN give zero f*cks about a stealing of any kind and still buy their products... This all is just my opinion on them, I don't press you to think same about them.

So stating that MANY of the members here would be fine about other people´s work being stolen is not a generalization?  Good to know.  I´m surprised you want to be in a forum where so many are potential thieves or accomplices.

OK so they´re being d*cks to the artists, so their whole operation must be a scam, right?
Generalizing on past behavior.

I know that many of you will say "what the hell, their packs sound good, I will buy them" or "I don't care", but I think buying packs from them is like supporting stealing from good artists that doesn't get paid for their sounds.
Generalizing on the members of this forum because of what?  Check your attitude at the door.

You are almost convincing me to change my stance Lydian, but only almost.  A lot of good points, but still lacking a little when it comes to explaining how practicing an instrument does or does not train your ear.  I think it does.

I don't really agree with EDM barriers being low. The amount of effort that it takes to produce EDM at a professional level is much higher than the other genres from my personal experience.

You have just as many people with bad ears writing EDM as you do writing pop, rock, and jazz. We just don't see much of the others here because this is primarily a dance music forum.

Eh, no way!
Most people who write pop, rock, or jazz can play an instrument.  That is more than 85% of all so called "edm producers".  I call BS

Sorry to say this ZAU, but it´s gonna get worse. There´s so many "djs" and "producers" out there without any clue as to what sounds good.  The main question should be about what people´s motivation to learn this stuff should be.  If you don´t know that you suck, then why would you want to fix it?
