I think that the arrangements can be made by PM, so no one will be rejected in public.  Collab section is really needed.

I disagree drastically. Depending on your technique, you might be throwing down a lot of tracks every set, and not all of them go well together. If you match key and tempo, and switch tracks quickly, a few thousand tracks might be necessary if you don't want to get bored every night.
So do you just plan all your sets once a month, or once a year?
Depending on how much you change records, I really don´t think that you need such a massive amount of songs.  A good dj knows his/her tracks in and out, and even though you get wave display and all, you should put in the effort.  Of course depending on style, I consider it bad form to play less than 2 mins of a track on average(not counting intros and voice overs etc.).  Remember that every man and his dog can mix with the available technology, so track selection is key.

Personally, I do not think bigger is better(no pun intended).  I do not know what genre you play, but you need to limit your choices when you prepare your sets, rather than bringing 50.000 tracks.  It´s no good spending the whole night scrolling for the next track.  If you want to make good sets, you should approach the gig like djs used to in the vinyl days.  If they chose more than 200 tracks(2 crates), they would not be able to bring them all.  Look at Mat when he spins.  He´s bringing 100 or so cds.

Samples/Plugins/Software/Gear / Re: Using a MacBook for FL
« on: April 08, 2016, 10:47:49 pm »
Because the Mac does not crash.  Porter Robinson stated that it was really hard to produce on a PC as he loved FL, but the OS was shit.  I changed from PC to Mac 8 years ago, and I never looked back.  It just works.  I was a real PC fanboy, but when I got a MacBook for my birthday, I was convinced after a week.  No blue screens anymore.  And I really get the part about knowing where stuff is, and that upgrades are easier.  But it really removes almost all of your hardware and software concerns.  No drivers, and so on.  And most Macs run Windows faster than same specced PCs.

It´s too much, really. 63K 909 bass drums? 17,5 hours of 1 second listening to each sample.  You will be spending more time sifting through these than you will be using on your music.

It has been decided that this forum is not for the things that you ask about.  Your thread will probably be gone soon.

DANZ is only 16, but already on his way to becoming a good producer.  Young and promising as he..

Learn to make things less stereo instead of more stereo.......

you have every capability to control the frequency with eq.

you also are in control of the frequency content by the sounds you make, also when it's being treated with eq.

Make your mix wide, not your master.

I wouldnt do soundcloud links unless they request soundcloud links. An email is a little more professional imo. And its a good idea to give them a brief description too. And not in the subject. Dont be that guy.
Never, ever, send tracks in an e-mail!!  It will only get people pissed off!  The labels like SC-links that have DL enabled.  That way they can do a quick listen without downloading, and then download the track in full if it grabs their attention.  If you don´t use SC, then give a link to dropbox, wetransfer or similar.
The brief description part is a good idea.
