Inspiration/Creativity/Motivation / Re: Working with vocalist?
« on: January 12, 2016, 06:12:58 pm »
I prefer to make the track fit the vocals, and not the vocals fit the track. When using vocals I want the vocals to be the center of attention, and this is the best way to do it, at least in my opinion.
It's not too hard finding a vocalist if your tracks are good enough. I found a few vocalists who've worked on songs with millions of views but only like 50 followers in soundcloud. I never actually worked with one of them because I rarely finish songs, but the guy was willing to do some vocals for me.

I don't understand... No one is forcing you to click it, and this forum is all about music, it doesn't make a lot of sense to restrict it.

Might as well remove the links in your profile as well, because it's no different.

why not try analyzing other songs ? Porter Robinson - Language got the coolest breakdown imo i studied that then suddenly understood how it works. basically the chord progression decides where the melody will go. if the chord prog changes (not just randomly) then it'll be real smooth

This, if you're stuck, the best thing you can do is analyze songs.

Give out enough free music that people don't feel like they need to steal the stuff you ask them to pay for.

You can just download music off of youtube/soundcloud, might as well just give it for free

JSome people are unable to create whatever they want on purpose and just make what comes to them naturally.

That's me! It's either a mistake or something I just think sounds cool and end up adding to my song

R&A Graveyard / Archives?
« on: January 11, 2016, 07:42:29 am »
Any thoughts on archives? imo a lot of suggestion posts can be archived since one of the admins/mods gave and answer why ________ isn't going to happen.

Maybe discussions after being inactive for X amount of time can be archive as well.

Think it would just make everything look tidier :3

What I did was make a note of all the different elements coming in and out, and then make a bunch of time stamps. Instead of replicating the sounds in the original song, I would put in my own sounds that could take its place while having them go in and out at the same time as the original.
