1: Learn what all the basic filter types and wavforms sound like in combination with each other. Why am i not surprised about the second one ? :p
So many questions I get about sounds end up being the simplest things just because a person didn't experiment enough to know what a square wave sounds like with a bandpass on it.
2: Learn what everything sounds like with distortion.
So many questions I get about sounds end up being the simplest things just because a person didn't experiment enough to know what a square wave sounds like with a bandpass on it that was then distorted.
3: Learn every combination of every setting that makes a super saw.
High pitch spread, low spread, high phase spread, low phase spread, distorted, not distorted, a chord, an octave, an octave and a third. From my own observations, 70% of all sound design is just super saws. Learn that, and you're 70% of the way to learning everything.
I've seen this mentioned elsewhere on this forum, but an awesome free ePiano library is mda ePiano. I love it!Yeah, Mat_Zo recommended it. I think i'll try it too
The phantom power is for a microphone. You should have a red buttons with 48V written below.First, is the phantom power on ?
Second, how many device do you have plugged into your power socket ? (the one from your house) Do you use power strip ?
Third where you at ? (Depending on which country you're in the maximum power can variate. Here, in Belgium, I can have 220V)
Answer and we'll see where it comes from. (Def from you computer, but that means, you've something plugged in and it's too much)
Sorry if I sound like a noob, but what exactly is the phantom power and how can I check if it's on?
I unplug a lot of stuff when it's not in use.. My D-DJSX2 is located right next to my computer. You think that might be giving off some static feedback?
I'm located in Los Angeles, CA. Don't know if that might be a problem.
Thank you for your help bro!
ah so i just automate the volume? ableton. It's not really the volume. but could work.
I'm not saying that you actually pitch it down, but if you look at a 808 sample you can still that it fades out. the LFO or the enveloppe will allow you to do that.
try using an LFO or an envelloppe to make it pitch down.(like a real 808)
how would you normally do that? i feel it loses some power once it goes too low.
So, let's start this.
First intro, nice progression. I like the voice in the background. Fit to the genre, i guess.
Breaks are actually surprinsigly good. I like the violin, and the piano is very good.
Drop, The kick is good, but it seems like your 808 is a sample. If so, try creating a real sub bass. It will make it more powerfull. The synth/lead is very cool, in both drops. (First and Second)
The main ideas are pretty well executed, most of the track sounds good.
PS : there's a clicky thing at the start of the track. Needs to be removed, if it's not wanted.
right on. i'll try the sub ideathanks
Yep it does.Track link not working...
now it should be![]()
