but what if we have no idea where to start?
Record your voice. Distortion, and you have the first one. Open a synth Sine Wave, slow LFO tools, Distortion, second one. Etc....

In Fl studio, we have the "Limiter" Which is a plugin working the same way you do your sidechain.

It is a compressor but you link your kick to it and it work like a sidechain compression. The thing is here, you can change the release time of the kick you've link without changing the kick sounds.
Looks like this :

You can bend the envelope and use 8 differents curve for it. that's better for sidechain than everything I've tried before. (Threshold, Ratio, gain, Saturation, Knee, It's really basic limiter.)

Electronic musicians needs to be the actual composer and the sound engineer, which is hard. So take you time to process everything and then try to make something. Process also one thing at once.

It can variate alot. I mean, There's track i've spent 4-6 hours on it because I had all the ideas and the keys to make them work, and other who took me 20+ to finish.

why don't you want to sell your art? i mean, people like lido make sincere music, don't DJ & still have a really good income... i don't think it's healthy to have that view on labels from the beginning whilst you're relatively unknown
People are free to donate if they want. I mean, I believe that arts is a way to live but I feel like paying to go in museum is wrong. Arts need to be free.

That's why I listed labels that are all willing to have PWYW releases... I have yet to charge for my music, but I accept donations.
PWYW is ?

why don't we share the patches/processes of how you made the sound?
Well, because you have to try it by yourself :p

WIPs / Re: Original Ochestral Dubstep track I'm currently working on
« on: January 07, 2016, 03:50:47 pm »
Hey,

Nice ideas so far, I liked the orchestral part.

But here's something you'll need be carefull with, compression. Orchestral stuff doesn't allow too much compression. Most of the orchestral part have a big dynamic Range, so if you compress it too much, you'll destroy it. ;)

Although, keep it up !

Dear producers,

You should all have your email address on your soundcloud account for maximal networking. People might want to contact you, and emails are often used to do so :)

Cheers!
I did that, great idea but I got more spam that actual email that were usefull networking.

You Might Like... / Re: DAW - FL Studio vs Ableton vs Bitwig
« on: January 07, 2016, 03:45:18 pm »
I prefer Fl studio because I think it has a better workflow. I used to work with Cubase, then I tried Ableton and only then tried Fl and FL was the thing I needed.

I've been using for 3 years now and I would never change. Also FL 12 is perfect.

Well, that's a though question. Sometimes I like to try to make tracks, just to train myself.

206
None. I mean by that, that if they want to signed me, I would refuse gently. Why ?
There's 2 reasons. I don't want to sell music. Music needs to be free from any obligations. The second reason is, I would prefer something else than pure electronic musicians. They need to "DJ" to be know or it won't work. And I don't like Djing.

Thank you for the feedback.

I think you want to tone down the way you speak. If my track offends you so deeply, then I'd rather you don't feedback at all. Everyone is on a learning curve, especially people on a Producers Forum, and I can assure you that I care about what I make. The reason I have asked for a label suggestion, is because once it sounds correct, I do not want for this to sit in my folder, which is understandable, right? Quite ironic that you bash my track, but then think I compare myself to Deadmau5, just because I asked for a label suggestion.

However, the need of variation is a valid criticism, as this is a tech house style track, where variations make the tracks stand out.
ye, It don't offend me really, I'm just mad at myself. Although, I should have add "so far" but, yeah some times i'm an ass.

Any suggestions?

Mix it ! I mean, there's 100 of thread about mixing. so it's up to you to look for some good advice there. Don't ask anything before you've actually make sure, it's not here.

Also look at this to get started. Next, post in the WIP thread to have bigger feedback.
