Last years I was forced to quit production cuz I destroy my computer. (Mistake not because I was angry)

When I got it back, I had so much ideas. So during the all summer seasons, I was over productive and I made 4-5 songs. I didn't release them because they were unclompleted. So I put them in a FORGET folder and move along. Now I'm back with these and they sounds good so far. I'll probably finish those this year.

If you're stuck, stop and move to something else.

Why tracks are so generic ? because mainstream is.

Little boy doesn't want to grow up and he want to look like David F******* Guetta.

You don't change a winning team... That's it !

If you want to be famous, that's the path. If you want to be recognize as great artists, experiment and f**** everyone who put you down saying it won't work. Who cares about the money, we care about the music.

Samples/Plugins/Software/Gear / Re: Headphones Vs Speakers
« on: January 07, 2016, 12:54:18 pm »
If it sounds good while quiet, means it sounds good at full volume.

Headphones are fine but you'll need to have Speakers to hear it in a atmosphere, like your bedroom, your garage or anywhere to see if it's sounds good outside.

Also, there is some good cheap speakers on the market. Presonus Eris 4.5 are neat 200 euros max. (I've those one and the E5)

Thank you for the reply!
I have noted some of the things you mentioned ( i already have a few of my own ) and ill start working on it again when i get home.. i just wanna ask if you think the compression is too much even though ( at least during the 2nd drop ) its supposed to be loud?
Yeah, Loudness doesn't mean overcompressed track. I know that Dubstep and other genres have developped the compression worship but it's not required for loud drop. If everything is correctly in place and well mixed, you might not need anything more.

Compression is when you actually want something more define. I mean by that, that compression on instruments aren't crazy, but compression on groups, like all basses, all saws, all drums, will make it more blend together but not always. Also, if you play correctly with every sounds level in the mix, you'll make it loud enough like you want it.

Quick tip : If something isn't powerfull enough, DON'T BRING IT UP ! Bring everything else down !

Hey,

First thing first, the piano could use some humanization. Means you need to make sure all the notes don't have the same velocity because no humans plays like that.

Kick sounds fine but could be better. Snare isn't great. Needs to be punchier. HIT IT ! Sub Bass is good. Lead is good, but too brief. The progression is fine.

And that's it. :D

maaan i like those dry hits but it definitely some more movement I agree. Not sure i'll go full nero though. Maybe get a trap lead or something could work aswell lol i'll see

but thanks! <3
trap lead on top of the drop could be very sick.

Sounding good. you definitely need a bit more going on in the mid/high mid tho.

Well, keep working on it.

Mastering is a thing, Mixdown another one.

Ideas are cool, but it doesn't have enough Mid and High mid frequencies. Sounds a bit muddy. the kick and the snare could use a break. The intro is way too long and uninteresting, do some variation to make it work better. Also, the clap starting around 2:57 is awfull. You'll need a better one for sure. Second drop is better, but the mix seems to be compressed. You need to try having headroom and nothing on the master before trying anything else.

The end is the intro but fading out, instead of fading in.

Again, you have cool ideas, melodies, chords but generic sh**** structure. The way it works is fine but nothing too fancy. MAKE IT FANCY ! that's the important part in music.

so TL;DR : Remove anything "master" thing, you've use and try playing with the volume of everything else to have -3dB at least of Headroom. Try having bigger break without drums. Make it fancy. and that's it for now.

have a good day !

PS : No hate, really it's for you that I say that. I've been like that before.

It's not bad, it's ok so far.

No label will accept a song that have a noise in the background for the entire song or at the least 3/4 of it. It's extremely boring. It's make my ears bleed.

That being said, you need more variations here. It's the same f***** drum pattern during the entire track, make a break, try melodic elements, change the sounds. I mean, It needs to be thorough.  I know that Deadmau5 have track sounding like that but Deadmau5 is Deadmau5 and you're not him. So, you'll need to learn variation and a bit more of sound design than only sine wave bass.

No hate, but this makes me mad every day, that everyone look for label and don't care anymore about the music.

It's does sounds cool but I won't see this on any label.

Hey, sounds good so far.

The arp music box/plucky is a bit too strong. I feel like we don't hear the voice enough. Kick is weak and clap/snare too. But it has potential.

It's good so far, and there's not really much to say about it :p

Export in wav and then upload to bandcamp.com and then download a 320 Kbps mp3 version. (So I don't have to edit tags)

Then upload to  soundcloud.

Mixing/Mastering / Re: Is mastering always neccesary?
« on: January 07, 2016, 09:04:23 am »
Mastering is not always required. When a track is perfect without it. (and if you have the -3dB of headroom), then don't screw it up with a mastering. I mean, if you don't know how to master your track, it's probably better without it. Just mix it correctly and it will be fine.
