I personally use an old desktop that i've upgraded with more ram, SSD etc. But one thing I learned by accident is that if you have a computer that isn't very powerful that you are forced to

1) be more efficient with bussing, multiple EQ's etc
2) become better at removing things from your song that you might not need.

not to say you should go out and buy a bad computer but its interesting to be in that situation.

also definitely have gaming and music on the same computer.

First thing I notice is that your kick has too much punch. If you either change the sample or eq it a bit it would be alright. aim for something like Nicole Moudaber and you'll see it has punch but its more "subdued" I guess? that is my first thought. keep working on it though!

The main thing I notice was that there is just a lack of something in terms of the whole song, everything seems really thin. try working with layering synths and see if that makes it any better.

Send me a personal message I'd be willing to hear what is your head. see if we have similar ideas!

So weird. yeah the panning of the sample is disorienting. also might be that my ears are tired but the keys around:45 seem either out of key or out of place. very different stuff. keep it up!

One thing I hear in my head around 2:24 until the drop is some sort of snare on the offbeat as it builds up. sort of M83 esque. other than that its really neat.

around 1:40 until the drop
that's what I mean.

This song is just so weird and cool and different I love it. All the weird samples somehow work. Keep it as an interlude. I could see this being a nice break between tracks to clear the audio palette. I would have some sort of resolution to it at the end. maybe just a big reverb washout or something.

Finished Tracks / Re: Warehouse (Extended Mix) | Tech House/Techno

I really like this track. Not really techno i'd say closer to electrohouse a la early wolfgang gartner like KLANG said. I do agree that there does need to be more variation with that bass just so it has a little more draw and keeps your attention because if it doesn't change it mentally goes into the background. But with all that being said, really cool idea. keep going!

If you can get custom earplugs made that is the best way to go. I got them over two year ago, they still fit perfect and they are a somewhat flat attenuation so the music isn't muffled. 10/10 would recommend.

I would love to get customs, especially because my ear shape rejects most earbuds I put in. (They just push themselves back out!)

Not in my current price range right now, but I would love to get some done in the future!

Any brand in particular that you would recommend?

Just go to a nearby audiologist and they'll make it for you. I just went to a place near my house.

What makes me different from all the other people I know in the industry is I don't have any financial, or commercial ambitions, besides being able to do what I love every day, all day, and still afford food and shelter and the occasional bundle of plugins.

I'm not naïve - I know the majority of the artists are doing this for commercial and financial gain - but surely there must be a few producers with as much passion as you? :(

I'd say a lot of artists are like that. There are people who hold full time 9-5 jobs and just make music at home and never release it. they just want to have that creative outlet

When I'm trying to put an emotion into a song what I do is use certain sounds and effects that kind of give me that emotion. Not the entire song will be like that but maybe you have a pluck sound that gets really sad when its in minor chords with a certain flanger effect on it. Or samples. Also the arrangement and things for white noise etc. I have an interlude that I made and for me its pretty emotional because it uses rain that I recorded outside my window as the white noise in the background along with this epiano sound that I put lots of reverb on.

Hi folks,

I know everyone has a different workflow regarding automation. But this is the most hindering factor in my workflow and it really ruins my time. Really I am getting now to the point that I want to switch daws just because of the way I use automation in FL..

So I was wondering, how do you guys do it? What are your ways in organizing automation in FL Studio?
With FL 12 comes the link between tracks. You can merge 2-3 tracks from the playlist into a group. If you do so, everytime you use a new track in the playlist for a new instrument, link the one below, and when you'll create an automation it's gonna appear there. (make sure to have no track upper empty.)
It looks like that :

You can see on the left, that there's group of tracks.

What you also can do it, to "lock to content" every track in the playlist (Where there is something). So no automation will be putted where you don't want it.

Good to see this forum is still maintaining my "learn something new each time I logon"
This changes everything about automation for me. Merci Beaucoup
