Inspiration/Creativity/Motivation / Re: Forcing Yourself To Produce

its alright man, take it one day at a time

its challenging man but you have to push through, try not get distracted, focus on the daw

i think producing is linked with confidence, so maybe you should go and learn some technical stuff, watch some youtube videos on melodies, sidechaining, arranging, Eqing, get a subscription to computer music magazine, watch your favourite producers talk about their music

try produce on a consistent basis and then increase the intensity when you get momentum

spit out the ideas and do whatever it takes

try and have fun, learn stuff, you start to impress yourself

theres a reason why the best producers make the best tracks

so you wrote your bassline, added a synth, sylenth or massive or whatever,

you need a sub underneath all that so it sounds nice and good for the ears, basically you just need to duplicate the same notes to your sub channel, you need to eq it with a high cut at around 300hz i think, you must have compression and sidechaining

this is the most basic technique, there are more advanced techniques where you can start mixing things up with the notes...with amazing effect, i've heard it a lot in the electro house stuff..

if you are adding sub for your leads, you can put the sub bass notes at the 2nd lowest note of your leads,
say your leads start at G1, then layered into G2, then put the sub bass notes on your G2

i like to visualise myself in the studio with my favourite producers and sharing thoughts and talking about making beats haha

but a motto hmm..

all you need is already inside

309
yes ofc sylenth and massive are the best soft synths man, every electronic track has at least sylenth or massive in it, every single day theres patches that come out for it

its vengeance man, its got percussion for all genres, you can try freshly squeezed samples too

311
yeah the built in plug in for saturator is awesome, try the dada life sausage fattener man lol

312
16 gb ram, 2tb hard drive space, i5 minimum, pc or mac doesn't matter, you cant go wrong

theres a time to nerd out on gear but you have to learn production, get on it man

Inspiration/Creativity/Motivation / Re: Ideas/Problems with Percussion?
« on: January 25, 2016, 12:23:01 am »
you gotta study how percussion works, its practice man, this means that you have to listen closely to a song you like and try and copy it

dont be afraid to mix it up, a lot of trance now seems to have electro, even dubstup percussion in it
you can start off by adding percussion just before the kick to add oomph

oh yeah nice one mat, also the best chefs are the best producers and its like presenting your food to the masses and they will like it or not, if they like it they will come back for more
