Mixing/Mastering / Re: Mixing quick tip with Pink Noise
« on: January 10, 2016, 04:40:09 pm »

Isn't literally flat, and oscilate the frequencies, but to me looks balanced, as any music when analised in spectrum the sub frequencies stand out.
Anyway I won't go full nerd, I just think that deserves a try using moderately, in the end is the ear that decides.  ;)

Alright, i've read a bit more and it sounds like I was wrong. I'm litterally feeling stupid. i've class about that says but my book was wrong. Sorry -_-

i'll update my post...

Also, something more about FL, is that it comes with his own ASIO version. Which helps anyone who doesn't have good driver for producing.

This is not a bad idea, but it is really not a good one either. If you look at the Pink Noise spectrum he showed. it's boosted on bass. Which is dangerous, first because it could break your ears, then second because it will break your gear. Low frequencies have more power than mid/high.

For example, if a track has too much low, you'll hear perfectly, but if it has too much high, you probably won't notice it or it will be hard.

I'm not sure if the guy of the tutorial upload his pink noise, I'm using a random pink noise that I found in the internet and looking in any Eq spectrum actually the frequencies are pretty flat, but good that you said and the future views of this topic can check the frequencies of their pink noise in some EQ before start leveling their track channels.
If anyone is interesting I can upload my pink noise file.
Pink Noise are basically the opposite of White Noise.

In the pink noise (a real pink noise), there's a decrease of 3dB per octave. In the white noise, there's an increase of 3dB per octave. If there's not, this is definitely not a pink/white noise. It's not supposed to be flat.

Finish this before the end of the year, along with the 2 others songs who are supposed to make a seamless EP.

Heyo,

So, It's not to bad. At least for a beginner, it's not clipping. It means you have something. It has sidechain also. So mix isn't too bad at all. Need some work but not that much. The plucky sine sounds is a bit too strong, compared to the rest. So, you'll probably need an actual snare or a clap. Cymbals are fine but not really punchier enough to work properly. That's it about the mix/instruments.

Now about the creativity here, so it's definitely repetitive. It's the same chords, same melody all long. That's not bad but it's boring quickly. Some thing to do when you have that, is to use only in a single part the melody and remake one everytime there's new elements. Don't just copy it all over, make a new one, who fit with the first of course. It will force you to be unique everytime.

So, good but repetitive. keep working man :)

If you're looking to upgrade or to buy a new computer, i would recommend you build it yourself. that way, you'll know what you have and you'll also be able to upgrade it if required.

here's specs for an ultimate Desktop PC for music and games It's a bit long but, it's very helpfull ;) (made by Kerosyn):

That's exactly what i did 2 months ago, i just took a little risk by getting an AMD processor instead of intel due to the huge price difference. Lately, my DAW started crackling in projects that aren't that big so i'm afraid i've taken the wrong decision.

I've an intel, and no problem. Yeah intel is better for producing.

Heya,

So, most people have pointed out already, but the drums could use some compression. Punchier kick and a clap instead of a snare could be a bit better. Arp is cool. Keep this up !

I've listen to your stuff and as LT said, you'll probably make it good :D

Heyo,

I liked what you did, there's some Kill Everybody feels in some part. Although, it could use more sidechain. Crazy sidechain. Sub needs a bit of power. The 128 Bpm part is fine the way it is but the slower part could be more chopped. Like having a crazy Glitch Hop feel, making those drums move.

Also, in the 128 bpm part, you could add some supersaws at the end of 8 bars to make it break.

Heyo,

I didn't comment the first time but, i'll do it now.

So to be started, I liked the main synth but it kinda feel like it's overused in the song. It's there from the beginning to the end. I think you should try making 2-3 differents to add variation. (Like one with detune and super wet) The bass is a simple sub, maybe try adding texture to it, i don't really know.

the kick and the snare matched perfectly. Percussions were very cool.

Melodies were a bit too simple, try making them move a bit, to give those some sweet feels.

Although, it's good so far ;)

Oi,

So, good track so far. Atmosphere is good, synths are fine and bass could be a bit more chopped but they're nice. Kick is a bit weak and snare could be tighter. I would recommend you this vid to make this perfect.

Also, the mix could use a bit more High Mid frequencies. (And High end, which are hard to make in a DnB tune)

Except that, it's good ;)

Heyo,

I liked the percussive work as well. The kick and the bass fit very well together. Snare is perfect in here. It's nicely mixed. I didn't heard any clipping part.

The progression, strings, melodies, pluck is very good. There's not a thing to say. It's good. You'll need variations to make it longer, but you'll handle it, i'm pretty sure.

Keep it up ! ;)
