Definitely needs some type of atmospheric intro, maybe you could make one out of that vocal chop and reverse it, sometimes i like to record a sample but drowned in reverb and make a pad/atmosphere out of that. Other than intro and mixing/loudness. this is a dope track, arrangement wise, you should really drop it fat at the end because thats an epic buildup. have a ton of percussion drop in and really bring up the energy.

So I've Updated the song, definitely gonna switch up the very last half verse cause i think i could switch it up instead of repeating that previous section, kind of ruins the flow.

Please let me know if anything stands out to you, I know my dynamics are fucked, i think im going to go in and automate the master a few dbs so that it slowly increases towards the drop. looking for feedback mostly arrangement wise, and if anyone has some tips for things i may have overlooked in the mix.

Great remix, that noise at the drop is insane sounds like a guitar solo. Hope to make something this awesome someday.

mix is clean as fuck, I think the panning works fine.I would make that final grunt a little louder right before the drop as a final warning for "this is the drop"

Maybe try switching out that sample of the horns that are throughout the song for something else, but thats just an opinion thing honestly.

Also im curious how you made that dillon francis sounding synth on the second drop almost sounds like a pitch down version of the lead in this song.

thanks for the suggestion but that part is intentional, I like how it really kicks in the groove after the break.

Hey,

I like your idea but i think you should add some more voices to your synth it would make it a lot fuller and sound great i think.

Also you might want to turn it up a bit. Those clap samples are really raw, Maybe you could smooth them out with some compression/distortion to give them more harmonics or try some different samples.
I look forward to the updated vocals!

good luck ;D

Those bass noises on the first drop are pretty distorted and not very good, too much high end and not enough mid range. IMHO I personally would try some different sounds but, your arrangement is solid. Could just be a matter of flipping through some different presets and changing them up a bit.

Second drop is a dope switch up. the gangja sample sounds a little off though I would mess with your timing there. And maybe during parts bring back your bass noises so its not too distant from what the original part was like.

Music is purely subjective so please feel free to ignore the f*** out of my suggestions.

good luck ;D

Just my opinion but i think it would be a lot cooler if you kept that synth going on 1/8T notes instead of slowing it down to the 1/4 notes. But purely opinion based, your mix sounds good and the arrangement is great!  :D

I really like this idea.

I believe your fx and high hats/shakers are a little to loud, and kind of take away from the main plucks and lead. And also since plucks tend to share the same frequency range i would recommend you make some eq cuts to free up space for each element to come through clearly.

definitely overall would just turn down the percussion by a few dbs and fx and bring up the plucks.

good luck  ;D

I think it definitely needs more percussion. High hats, shakers, open hats. Maybe not necessarily your typical house style because i think your going for something a little different here. Also small white noise bursts on every 8th bar tend to help the listener know that your idea is about to repeat.. haha.

also i think it would be really cool if you had the bassline follow the notes of that lead when it comes in.

Those rides are a little too quiet in my opinion i would bring them up a little louder.

Maybe you could sample a crackling fire into the background to fit the theme a little more.

music is super subjective so please take my recommendations with a grain of salt. to each their own.
good luck ;D

Everything sounds fine except for your main lead, sorry to say it but I would drop that sound completely and try something new. To my ears it just sounds annoying and way out of tune.
I feel like this song would really benefit from that lead being changed.

at the end of the day it is your song, do what you will with it.

good luck  ;D

WIPs / Re: hold it tight 'lil' john | hat loop help [neuro/dnb]

when the drop kicks you might want to try to have your hihats go double time, you might need to mess with their attack/decay to get it to sound right. Also the overall groove on your hihats is lacking it feels very on the grid to me. maybe try introducing a different hat to complement the one your already using or mess with trying to nudge things slightly off grid to get some swing. Also that pitch bending noise on the left side is alot over used you might want to mess around with bringing that in for moments at a time.

In terms of mixing the bass/wobble noise seems to be getting lost when everything kicks in, i would try eqing away certain elements of the song that share the same frequency range as the bass noise.

your sub is all there which is nice.

good luck :)

WIPs / Move your feet (deño remix) - Bass House / Breakbeat
« on: January 11, 2016, 01:35:07 am »
Just finished the arrangement for this track, been working on it for a while. Pretty happy with the first and third drop, really open to suggestions for the second drop, trying to go for that whole surprise diplo whiney breakbeat thing.

Still Haven't run through a true final mixdown where I bounce everything to stems, but i've done some basic gain staging/eq/sidechain to get it close.

Please let me know what you think.
