Mixing/Mastering / Re: DONT MIX WITH ANY HEADPHONES MADE BY BEATS BY DRE!

Yea they really have their own added color to them. Its good to know how your final mix is going to sound on Beats tho being that a good population of the earth probably own a pair.
yeah that's also a reason to reference on it. but about mixing i'd still say it's not half bad. you're just mostly not used to it ~

@BrianWithAnE : ah thanks. i've been trying to ask other producers near me for help on some tracks, but haven't really done one yet. maybe i should try this sometime soon :) thanks !

@jaxter184 : haha i should totally try putting my headphone front and back. thanks for that list of deaf musicians :P i'm totally going for the ear treatment. not exactly sure how it'll be, but i'll give that a shot. there's no replacement for a pair of ears anyway~

@Pixel Blood : aah, i have that plug but never used it. going to try that to check how things work. thanks, totally !

@Hytyma : hmm true, but when i analyze tracks from my "heroes", i always see the stereo image to be spread in a manner that's similiar from one to the other. i'm sure about not doing mono, buuut maybe starting mono then working on the stereo later on would be beneficial :)

@Drainpuppet : that's assuring. i just had the idea of having both ears would totally help understanding the nature of stereo width (even though i can kind of feel it with my current condition). yeah, the option for asking others for opinion would always be there, last resort though.

@polymetric : ah that's nice ! would love to hear what he got to say about my issue :D

yeah i do agree ! if the purpose of mastering is to make it acceptable for mass release, then maybe not. i think invader! said something about not doing any mastering, and just stick to really good mixing hehe. maybe not him idk

out of topic but, i'm curious about how you do the meter to sound blue-yellow instead of green-orange-red
is it a template ? or did you do something yourself ???

lol, you don't get it don't you ? it's all about the matter of perception
if you listen on your beats all the time, you then understand how sound A sounded like, so you can use beats to replicate sound A
even Aleksander Vinter (Savant) used to use Beats before buying any sort of monitor

ultimately, it doesn't matter~ :P

Samples/Plugins/Software/Gear / Re: Best Rhodes VSTi?
« on: January 06, 2016, 03:43:07 pm »
have you tried Lounge Lizard ?

Definitely agree Lounge Lizard has some of the best Rhodes sounds I've come across. Every sound is easily editable, so you can achieve clean sounds as well as gritty, dirty sounding ones. They also have great Wurlitzer/Mark patches!
ho yeah. i even made a low-mid fill with this, so no hit, no timbre, all just some kind of dry pad. this sounds so amazing. oh, the built-in reverb and delay is just so good. you don't need to keep it low and hidden, just crank it up, it's just perfectly in there. damn i love this one

what a flattering thread !

shadient sounds come from random doodles in sytrus and massive and i then fuck with a recorded sample of that sound (fx, timestretch, pitching algorithms, etc)

hope this helps!
watdafadafaking fak. this is interesting~

Mixing/Mastering / a rather unusual question about panning and stereo
« on: January 06, 2016, 01:24:13 pm »
hi~

i'm deaf in one ear, so i don't really know how to do panning and stereo imaging correctly. is there a way to tackle this problem ? so far i've been relying on visuals of my sounds and theories. i've been trying to do stereo flip (or whatever it's called) so i can switch listening to L and R, but this doesn't seem to work~

really appreciate your advice on this !
