The autopanned white noise at the beginning works!

Mmh, mayb I would make the hihat that comes in @ 0:16 a bit punchier with a compressor but that's just a matter of taste. If you like it, leave it.

The lead that comes in @ 1:04 sounds a bit 'generic', it could use some variation over time (filtering, delay, flanging,...?).

Mix is good, interesting song! Keep up the good work.

From what I hear it beats everything else, including invisible limiter. Although, I haven't really seen any a/b.

How can you compare a multiband limiter to a single band limiter? It's like comparing apples to oranges. Two different things.

Inspiration/Creativity/Motivation / Re: Imagine This

My reason to start making music (almost 12 years ago) was because of interest in music and I wanted learn about it. Just for fun. Never thought about being famous.

I enjoy the personal growth in music creation. I deleted all songs I made in the first five years; out of shame. And if I listen now to the growth I made in let's say 3 or 4 years, that gives me satisfaction.

Make music for yourself, enjoy it with friends of possible but don't expect to be liked for your music. You will probably only be disappointed.

This a track I made the other day. I also attempted to mix it. I know its nothing special, but I would just like some constructed feedback. So check it out if you'd like, and let me know your thoughts on what I could improve. (Also disregard the soundcloud name, its an old account I made years ago lol.)

You should post that stuff here: http://theproducersforum.com/index.php?board=8.0

Composition/Arrangement/Theory / Re: No Music Background...Thoughts?

I think learning music theory is easier then to hold on to ignorance, if music will be a long time hobby for you.

Am I the only one who avoids putting anything on the master channel at all costs until the very end/something odd/irregular requires it?

No, I do that too. I keep mixing and mastering separated.

Mixing/Mastering / Re: Compression in Anticipation of the Master

RMS compression will work slower, overall to peak compression. It will let the transienst intact, so you still will get the problem of too much dynamics.

You could try softclipping on individual channels, or try using saturation:

Well yeah, this suits the mood of watching a sunrise. The song slowly 'opens up' and that's what I was expecting when I want to 'hear' the sunrise.

Mixing is fine, nothing to add to that!

I think you did a great job with this song.

I can still download this without a problem.

Am I allowed to re-up it on another file hoster?

Mix sounds fine!! Nice and crispy without being oeverly bright.

The song has a thriving bassline, fit for the dancefloor. Well done!

Thanks Frederick!!
