Inspiration/Creativity/Motivation / Re: Promotional Idea?

Aw, I was hoping for something based on a more concrete theme, like Paint A Picture.
Had no idea that project existed. Honestly, that's what I originally wanted to do with this project, and was my original plan, but I decided it would be best to keep it simple at first to make it easier for more people to contribute. I'm a storyteller so that idea was most definitely what the original plan was, and as the project gets farther (if it does :/), I plan on giving more vivid prompts, Just trying to test waters. Also, had no idea this Paint A Picture thing existed, and I'm excited to see that other people are doing this kind of thing already!

Inspiration/Creativity/Motivation / Promotional Idea?
« on: February 13, 2016, 07:59:12 pm »
I put in this category because I didn't quite know what category I should put this in. Anyway!
The Project: I'm trying to make a community for people to promote themselves, by creating networks of fans and interlacing fans which other Artists, helping everyone getting their names more known! :)
How It Works: We/I Create a theme or idea, People submit their songs and I'll put together the songs I think fits best to it (Or whoever I have curating it at the time!) into an album/mixtape. We give it away for free, but I use Toneden so everyone receives followers from it, and everyone begins to gain new fans and new fans that were part of other artists fanbases!
I really want people to begin creating a community in of promoting and helps interweb fans even more! :)

THE THEME IS: ENERGIZE.
Anything you think is just full of energy, whether it be a bouncy house track, a high fuel electro song, a fast Happy Hardcore Rave track, or a heavy metal Mosh pit Jam! All genres accepted!
Submission Form is in the description!: https://soundcloud.com/groups/koolkidscrew
Please comment with any questions! :)

Everything Nogan said is completely true, and that's pretty much why I'm starting to do these challenges. I want to push other musicians to learn these kind of things, and maybe even learn some new tricks myself. So say a lot of people manage to put up an attempt for one of these challenges, and there are several different ways present, I didn't just give you a tutorial on how I did it, (Like most tutorials), I (by I, I mean the people who provided obviously) gave you a variety of work and references and different methods and paths on how to create. And anyone can try, so there will be different kinds of sounds and maybe you even accidentally come up with something new!

Damn. That was impressive
Well this is your opportunity to learn from it. Listen to the sample and get an idea from what Nogan said and connect what makes what sounds! That's the point of the challenges, learn and push yourself to be able to do that. Go ahead and try so you can learn from experience! :)

Woahhh maaaann
Yeah, I deal with people like that a lot, especially a good portion of my family, but nah, I honestly love to read academic papers, always found knowing about how the universe's mechanics work was very intriguing. I'm not going to lie and act like I understand every single formula, but over the years I have come to understand a good deal of the mathematics and different theories in the papers I've read.

Interesting, I'll check it out
Definitely should, I think it's a good movie, maybe just a tad bit 2-dimensional at very little moments if anything.

I will try to replicate it with words since I dont have a daw at hand:
- Sounds like a glassy Wavetable that is ever so slightly detuned
- That is sent into a soft Low pass filter that sounds like its modded by an LFO
- then it sounds like it is being distorted by pre gain through a Guitar amp plugin, which also is probably providing the cabinet impulse response there seems to be that is coloring the sound greatly and adding a little bit of tail
- Also a little bit of glide? or drawn in pitch bend
You're a good bit close on a couple those!
-I wouldn't really call the wave table I used glassy, but it is minimally detuned.
-There are three LFO automated filters I used.
-Guitar amp is right on point.
-Glide is exactly right
-Would love to hear your attempt at it!
