songwriting & songwriting & songwriting & songwriting & songwriting & songwriting & songwriting & songwriting &

if you are making electronic music like house, trance or edm watever, i've read that 1 way to get better at songwriting is to study pop music and its history, like stuff on the radio, try and learn about it and then make your stuff, but im not saying to go mainstream lol

36
I hope to improve my harmony and sound design, been working hard at it for this year and will be goals for next year too

37
I've heard good things about Spire but never dabbled in it (I typically use Sylenth or Serum).

Would really appreciate it if you find anything (I'm still looking myself and will let y'all know if I find anything as well).

Cheers!

spire is good man and i reccomend massive as well, all the synths have strengths and weaknesses

38
Whats your favourite colours?

39
you can try maybe send him a message if you really want to know lol
he has sylenth and spire essentials packs, look for some ideas or patterns? dunno about serum

40
maybe try look at the preset packs by sunny lax or similar for ideas or inspiration
i think those anjuna basses can be made with combining saw waves, FM and applying FX for grit and a lot of tweaking for variety

I Think its a good idea to take some time away from the studio man and rest yourself, music is so demanding on the body and you've just been through a lot

(If you still want to be in the studio), i just try make some patches with some synths or play with chords, watch some tutorials, i think that helps

42
yeah it could be a synth shots from a pack for the first one, could be loopmasters or something
the second one sounds like a bass with LFO from massive
thats my quick guess

43
all the batman films have the best composition by zimmer and newton howard
and brian tyler is a great film composer right now
also the halo soundtracks or fifa are good too with games

Sound Design / Re: Layering chords (how much is too much if any)

I dont create any future bass so i cant say too much, but its all about the chords and i watched a tutorial about it for fun

so i guess its just playing around with your tastes, 7ths 9ths, inversions, sustained notes until you get what you like and hitting that right note and a catchy progression

try ebay and buy a good PC around 900 dollars, i7, 16gb ram, you cant go wrong, or just go for the best specs you can get

i owned a cheap bad mac before, and you have to pay so much for a good one
