@rixir - nice dude! what kind of stuff are you thinking of remixing? & i can definitely empathize with not wanting to rush, process is very important as is taking ur time! im more setting deadlines for myself because ive had the opposite problem of a lot of time spent with no focus/progress, but everyone has different paths! you can do it. i believe in you.

Well i think the only way to get better is to do it, so i try make alot patches on my own, look at presets for studying, and yeah just alot of practice...downloading tutorial videos, studying synthesis in general, whether its wavetable or analogue, FM. With mixing, its about experience i think, so keep making the tracks and your ears will get more stronger and trained

pretty good goals man, for me this year, i want to work hard on sound design and mixing, make everything sound sharper

Pretty much just improve on all aspects of production

also to work harder and have fun in the studio, thats important as well...

ableton is the best for live gigs, ableton live started off as a live software for djs with the warp markings lol, then it changed for producers
and then rekordbox is good to sort out music

I think its a good idea to have both a laptop and desktop computer, laptop for on the road stuff and desktop cause of stability. I have both a laptop and desktop, but in the end i love the deskptop, i had so many CPU issues with a laptop, mac laptop batteries die after 4/5 years and you have to get it replaced, i remember the pain without ableton for a week. ouch and forgetting to bring the charger, Lol

as long as you can get your ideas down on a DAW and play with your synths then its alright

but go for specs man, 16gb ram, i7 intel, dude, you are set, its better for workflow = means get things load faster and you get things done quicker
so yeah build up your studio bit by bit

the sub bass must be on the lower frequency of the mix, it clashes with the kick, so cut around 120hz

best reccomendation is to invest in a strong computer, you wont regret it in the long term cause of workflow and speed
other than that, to save CPU is to bounce audio by freezing and use less cpu hungry vsts like sylenth, sylenth doesnt use much CPU and use stock plugins i think

you're alright, some mastering studios ask for -3db or in between -6db, you can drop by the master and use wavelab audio to check, use wav file 24bit no dither for ableton 

but after that everyone has their own methods of mastering, its a big topic

It's way more complex than that, I can get close but its super labour intensive, I have two seperate LFO's going and then two notch filters moving back and forth one in the low end one in the high end, then a shit load of EQ and FX after. I'm just looking for a more simple way, but I doubt there is one

hmm judging when the track was made, everyone was using sylenth and massive had just come out deadmau5 uses a lot of hardware synths though but these days i think he's on serum a lot
I personally think massive's EQ and fx is stronger than sylenth, sylenth is very analogue

my own genre, trance is hard! its always freaken changing

some people say drum and bass is the hardest to make

Id love to Try to make deep house one day though for fun
