Inspiration/Creativity/Motivation / Re: What Motivates You?
« on: March 19, 2016, 10:09:13 am »
because its in you, and you love to do it, and it brings you happiness and satisfaction in daily life

motivation slumps every now and then though so you need to keep inspired to keep motivation, you need to look at a lot of things in life and challenge your thinking

you need some killer instinct if you want to be a musician i think, its like sports a bit

Composition/Arrangement/Theory / Re: Making some chords...
« on: March 19, 2016, 04:33:30 am »
you gotta know your major and minor chords and your scales inside and out if you want to make 'melodic' music, you can kinda... get away with it with serious synthesis work though if your sounds are great

even today I'm still working on it and scratching my head about chords, thats the most special part of music

there are techniques to make chords of course..

yeah everything around you effects you

there is a lot of noise in this world, so try and filter out that noise, there is also good influence, so get around that too

what you watch, who you speak to, what goes on your head, what you are exposed to etc

so i try to look at a lot of things to challenge my thinking, magazines, newspapers

i try look at some more housey, electro, dubstep stuff, sometimes, just to see how it is made even if I'm a trance producer

Sound Design / Re: Need Help with this Chord Deconstruction!!
« on: March 15, 2016, 03:11:07 am »
theres a trick to that type of sound

many progressive producers do it, i just dont like it when they just change the chords and release more tracks like that with a new name lol, gets a bit annoying...

i know the trick kinda, but for beginners its good to know the trick

zuubi makes much better progressive stuff imo, he deserves more recognition, as he's not under anjunabeats like jason

you can start off here with zuubi's stuff, he goes through his track so you can listen

Composition/Arrangement/Theory / Re: Producing Dubstep/Glitchhop Drops
« on: March 14, 2016, 12:13:14 am »
I've checked out a few of virtual riots tutorials. They're really good quality. Maybe I'll revisit them and try to analyze what he's doing. The fact that not many people have replied leads me to believe that there aren't a whole lot of dubstep/glitchop producers on the forum that know the answers either. (Please prove me wrong guests/users)

haha im a trance producer but i always try to look at the house, electro, dubstep stuff

i think its always good to be inspired

« on: March 11, 2016, 11:47:45 pm »
try and reference your tracks to a track that is being released by a label you like

your tracks have to sound better, or just as good/on the same level as the stuff being released by the label

most of the times its the composition, the idea of the track, the drop and breakdown have to be there

try and imagine your favourite djs, playing your track in a club or festival, why would they play it?

keep going man and keep learning

Mixing/Mastering / Re: Mixes like professionals
« on: March 10, 2016, 05:53:07 am »
the big djs get their tracks sent to professional mastering, guys with like 20+ years experience of mastering

if you check out joe la porta, he does all the mastering for the big djs who want their tracks on us radio, tiesto armin, above & beyond, I've seen his discography

so dw about that, just work on your mixdowns and layering, it just has to sound good enough on soundcloud

with leads and layering I've seen drops with up to 10 layers+ of leads, believe me
