Really nice! Proper build but the drop is a bit underwhelming. One thing I like to do is save layers and sounds for the drop to increase the wow factor. I think the kick could hit harder as well. you can hear the mids on it but it doesn't have much oomf if ya know what I mean. I really like what you've got here!

yeah nice! Mixed well. I normally don't like bieber stuff...so there's that  ;)

really creative stuff. Minimal, dark, i dig it. very Gesaffelstein / M Machine.

sounds pretty good! It definitely sounds like it is clipping though. Maybe give yourself some more headroom on the mix down. good stuff otherwise!

Really feeling this one! Clean kick and good low end. I think that those growly mid grinds are a bit too crispy, maybe cut some highs. I would even consider adding 1 bar of silence or something right before the drop at :36 just because the transition from build to drop seems a bit abrupt to me.

Love the space you have going on at :55. Floating melodies mixed with filthy baselines are one of my obsessions :)

Keep it up!

Very nice. I think your kick definitely needs more beef. Cool vibe over all

it's interesting I'll give you that! It's a bit much tho since it doesn't seem to have a tempo that I can follow along to at all. And that's perfectly fine if that's what you were going for. I am just used to more dance-able music :)

It's quite mucky but I do like the idea you've got here. I think those chords could use some work. I like the musical idea you have and I feel like it is very close to being something more special.

Work on the mix, clean things up, and you've got yourself a nice funky track!

I have to say man, I can definitely hear your improvement. I know we've shared feedback a few times and you've improved immensely since I last listened to your stuff.

The most glaring thing I noticed was the drop pluck. It needs more layers. Think along the lines of Arty - Flashback. Add some lower super saw layers underneath.

Also, I would say make those pumping pads that you have underneath louder and wider. They could definitely stand out more.

For your breakdown pluck, I would recommend the same thing. Maybe another layer or two. I have been obsessed with using layer upon layer lately even for smaller sounds like that and it can go a loooong way in the sense of creating space.

Keep it up man!

Ps. if you wanna put in some feedback for meh https://theproducersforum.com/index.php?topic=2712.0 :)

Never got around to writing the first chunk of this song like I normally would. I usually aim for some kind of anjunabeats style Bass heavy drop but I spent so long with the breakdown that I just wanted to post it.

What do you guys think of what I have so far?

Music production is 100% something you can learn "in your bedroom." I myself studied Audio Engineering at school which I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to get into making music. I think the most important part of music production is being able to write actual music. People like Deadmau5 and porter robinson never studied music a day in their lives and yet they can write beautiful music. Once you can put some good melodies and chord progressions together, the sound design part of things just comes with time.

awesome

dig it! It may just be the headphones I am listening on but it kind of sounds like the basses that you've applied reverb to have too much low end on the actual reverb tail. Maybe cut some of those frequencies? Other than that I can't find anything I didn't like!

134
nice vibe you have here. Mixed really well. awesome space you've created with differing reverb tails.
