Sub of the kick is a little too loud for the song. Just needs general touch ups on the master as a whole.

Composition is nice, but after the drop its a little to repetitive. I suggest adding in either a chord change, melody change above the chords you have, and/or that sound that comes in at the end of the 1st 4 bars on the drop and repeats on every go around. That sound is great and would be FANTASTIC as a running lead after the 1st 4 bars of the drop! Or towards the end of the drop altogether.

Thanks for the feedback! I definitely can see some of what you're saying now that I haven't been working on this one for a few weeks and have moved onto new projects.

pretty good start you've got here. A few things I noticed:

I can definitely hear a decent amount clipping earlier on in the song. I would also layer your snare because it gets completely lost in the mix. Overall the mix feels a bit squished. I think that high passing more of your elements could help a lot because theres quite a bit of muddy tones floating around.

Really good stuff otherwise. Keep it up!

So I have been feeling extra creative this week. I stepped outside of my creative comfort zone and wrote my first ever dub step style of song which is a big departure from my normal style.

I am quite happy with the result. But...

I would of course appreciate any feedback you guys have for me as I am always looking to grow as an artist.

Cheers

Pretty solid start here. The kick could definitely hit harder. I like the sounds you use but they seem like they need more side chain compression or something. They feel a bit chaotic. It is definitely a new project but keep up the good work!

Definitely like the ideas you've got going. The Mix is a lot quieter than it could be. The kick is veeery weak. try and boost the kick so it hits harder.

As for the above comment, some reverb could go a very long way towards making this feel bigger / louder.

Keep it up!

Cool idea you've got! Very simply and dark. That really tingy high frequency click thing you've got hitting with the snare feels a bit out of place though.

I would also try and make the kick punch through the mix a bit more. I think that main baseline you've got running overpowers it. Maybe try a different sample and/or heavier side chain compression on the bass with a quick release time.

Keep it up!

Good start you've got going! I think the kick could definitely be punchier for this kind of song. I'd say try and add some more stereo width to some of the higher frequency elements. Otherwise, good stuff!

Definitely a lot of potential here but the mix is quite muddy. Too many frequencies overlapping here. Try and high pass absolutely everything that doesn't require low end to be effective. I have started to do things like this : https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/1v8h70/we_make_music_with_computers_pegboard_nerds_ama/ceps2dc

That post has been immensely helpful in my mixing pursuits. Definitely good stuff though, keep it up!

Suuuuuper chill. Dig it. Not much feedback I could offer other than maybe making the drums louder. I love the width and depth of all the melodic pieces, I think the percussion could be 1 or 2 dB louder? Just my subjective opinion of course :)

Keep it up!

I like it. Kind of madeon - ish. One thing I noticed thought is that it seems like the high frequency layer of your kick is panned to the right. Kinda of makes the song feel off balance.

Really cool ideas here though. Love the breakdowns!

really good stuff here man. You're one of the only people on this forum also making trance that I have been following. Your breaks are wonderfully deep, wide, and balanced. I'd love to see where that project ends up when it's finished!

I'm on headphones but I'll give it another go at home on my system.

Honestly I would market this as a remix. It is definitely original enough that I would't consider it a bootleg! I like this. Simple. Different with just enough of the original to recognize it. Just hit the second break...love it. feels like I'm outside and aliens are coming down to take me away haha. Really cool stereo width. I like your use of those little vocal chops floating around.

Honestly the first "drop" is a but dull but this song progresses and gets way cooler from there. Love that break down
