Inspiration/Creativity/Motivation / Ideas

So I started a project that I felt pretty strong about, started the introduction, and now that's started I have no clue where to go with it. What do you guys do when you just get stuck? I mean I literally have about 20 seconds of a song that I absolutely love, but have no idea where to go with it at this point.

Anyone else find the Group challenges extremely challenging once you start getting into the ADSR section? Any tips on getting the Cut off / envelope frequencies? That seems to be what's getting me most on EVERY challenge  :'(

I ended up buying the Novation Launchkey first model at guitar center for literally just $80 bucks compared to the "newer" model which had two buttons with the same function just changed. Needless to say, it's great. I use it with FL studio and the parameters work fantastically.

I just got my beyerdynamic DT 990 pro's in and boy do I love them. They run about 190, I spent 210 with over night shipping on amazon. Great buy honestly, It opened the way I listen to music.

I really like this, especially that second part in your breakdown. VERY mello inspired as someone noted. That intro is solid. Your lows are definitely coming out a lot better in the updated version. One thing I'd be careful with is those vocals becoming a little repetitive. Other than that, this is something I'd jam out on the way to work.

If you love Dubstep like as much as myself, you should check out EH!DE, this guy has some amazing sound design in his production. Very Midnight T-ish. I love it.

WIPs / Re: Fellow producers, need some help here with my track

Only thing that REALLY throws me off is the bass in your drop. It doesn't fit too well in the mix to be honest. I like a lot of it, but you take it somewhere and then it completely goes somewhere else which is GOOD in my opinion, but like I said that bass is just really overpowering and sticks out like a sore thumb.

This is beautiful. I love that panning on those Toms, I'm a huge percussive guy. That gliding in the buildup is great. Snare could be a little more generic and maybe cut through the mix a little bit more for that umph. Great mix man, I'll be looking out for more releases from you for sure.

All I have to say is this is very nicely laid out. The lows could be a bit more punchier in your "drop". You may want to look into a different sub sample because it's kind of bleeding into itself & maybe some tuning with it as well. It kind of has a hard time fitting in with the chorus. Everything else sounds great though, I would love to know how you're doing your vocal chops & how you're tuning them. Just work on those lows man and you're there.

The bridge up to the drop and the drop itself are very enjoyable. It seems you put a lot of work in the middle of the song, but the intro is very weak. I would choose a different snare and kick, and in the beginning the kick kind of comes out of no where. I'm no where close to creating a project like this nonetheless, but I figured I'd give some of mine own feedback. Love that sidechaining in the drop though. Keep it up man

Sound Design / Pitching Samples
« on: June 04, 2016, 01:43:46 am »
So whenever I'm working with my samples, obviously I would like to be able to throw them into my piano roll (FL Studio) & be able to pitch them at different notes without affecting the timing. I've been looking at youtube videos & googling this for a while now, and every method I use just doesn't seem to work. Could someone help and maybe elaborate on how they go about doing this? Thanks in advance.

Samples/Plugins/Software/Gear / Re: Komplete
« on: June 02, 2016, 03:29:03 am »
It's more than 95% of producers will ever need, truth be told. You'll only really end up using one piano. Rise & Hit is pretty good for movie trailer stuff. Monark is solid, and you can go deep with Absynth or Razor. There's definitely gonna be at least one thing in there you'll find use in, but it's up to you to decide if the unused plugins are worth the price.
I don't mean to go off-topic, but what would you suggest for drums? I have trouble finding any good drum samples as I suspect anyone else does. Any tips?

Edit: Also, I'm debating to purchase Massive, but I'm indecisive. I really like some of the modulations it has, but I'm also wondering if there would be anything 'better' to invest my time & money in.

Hi, I just wanted to get people's opinion on the entire Komplete bundle. Would it be worth getting?
I just got a new computer and I have a lot more space to work with, so I was just wondering does it have a lot of beneficial sounds/plug-ins to work with?
