First of all, holy cow I absolutely adore the original track. Definitely Kandi's best work, it has such an uplifting feel to it.

Nice trance gates at the beginning, though I think they get a little repetitive after a while. I'm at 0:54 and hardly anything has changed in the track so far.

1:55 - theeeere's the chord progressions I was looking for! I would think about using those changes earlier in the track, like I said to break some of the repetition. I understand though that this is still a WIP, so feel free to disregard those comments.

One thing I will say - while it's very well done, it's extremely similar to the original track; there's not a whole lot of difference between the two. The melodies are exactly the same, the trance gates sound similar, etc. Aside from some structural differences, they're almost the same track. If you're looking to really get a nice remix out of this, I would think about making some more dramatic changes to the original.

Very professional sounding as always though man!

Not a bad kick sample, but I would shorten it up some with either some compression work, or just lessen the "out" on the tail end of the sample. I really like when the snare comes in at 0:32, it's a good sample and gives the loop that extra 'pop' that progressive house/minimal tracks are known for.

Really like the bass that comes in at 1:04, though I would lay off that ride hat playing over and over again. I think it gets in the way of the other elements, and takes away some from the mix in general.

I wasn't expecting such an industrial feel, but I really like the direction you took with this track. It is very old-mau5, and I think it's mixed pretty well. Work on bringing out those synths more - other than the fact that they were subdued a bit in the mix, I liked them quite a bit. The industrial vibe was unique and worked well with the percussion!

Your logo is beautiful by the way, had to add that quick.

Very lush pad work, makes me think of synthwave which I love. The strings coming in at 0:45 is perfection...those samples are really well processed with good amounts of reverb. I think as the track goes on though (I'm at 1:28 currently), the piano begins to be drowned out. I would definitely bring the volume up on that sound as the track progresses. I think some bass work would do well too, even if it slowly came into the picture.

That gated synth swell that starts around 2:35 is really well done, and adds good variation to the mix. I think it could've been even higher in the mix though.

The mid sections of this mix are really great, but I'm left wanting more in the high and low registers. Still an incredibly lush and chill track, I really like it!!

Welcome to the forum! I hope you like it hear, we're pretty friendly :)

I like the volume work with the piano at the beginning, though I think there may be just a tad too much filter work on it. Nonetheless, it sounds solid.

The bass is nice, but I would love to hear more of it. Great snare sample though, absolute perfection on that. That high hat sounds a tad subdued as well like the piano, did you throw a low pass filter on that by chance? I would like to hear some more high end on it for sure.

I like the vibe the string samples bring, but some more reverb on them would fill the mix a little better. Contrary to the piano and high hats, I also think some filter work on the strings would do them justice.

I really really like the section starting at 1:02 with the eighth note hats - it sets a good vibe, and the piano melodies are really solid here. Very nice work.

Solid track man. Just as you said, your forte is definitely with hip hop instrumentals. I would work on the timbre of your samples to make them sound more natural, but other than that very nice work!  ;D

Never seen this anime myself, though I like the vocal work at the beginning. I think the snare and kick samples could use some work - the kick has a bit too much high end for my taste. Now that the snare keeps going though I like it, it fits better as the track goes on.

0:55 is a great section, though I'm not hearing enough in the low register. There's definitely a lot of high end going on, but hardly anything below like 200/300Hz. The synths and breaks are stellar though, and sound phenomenal.

Holy distortion at 1:44...I think you meant to do that though, correct? Cuz that next section is sick. I especially love the lead into it at 1:51.

Awesome work man, per usual!!

That percussion loop is really solid. The noise effects overtop sound really nice too, though I would think about putting maybe a measure or two before they come in with just the percussion loop for effect - that's really just a personal opinion though.

That low, subdued synth that grows and grows is really lush and sounds great. By 0:43 I am really vibing hard and loving the effects, your track title is perfect. Starting around like 1:21 though, I'd like to hear some more chord changes in the low region. I think shifting some of the notes into different progressions could really add good variation to this track, and it could sound really uplifting and incredible given how lush the track already is.

3:52 is really awesome - here I find the chord changes I was hoping for. I would like to hear some more chorus effects/reverb on the main pads though to give the mix some more depth and air. I think the really high end is lacking a bit as well.

But man dude, great vibe and feel to this track, it really is something special. I'd love to hear it when it's complete. :)

I definitely would take some reverb off of the kick - it doesn't need it and almost takes away from the rest of the mix. I really like the vocal work at the beginning though, the sample are cool and used well.

I like the melody of the synth that comes in at 0:30, but I don't love the timbre of the sound. I think it's a little too natural sounding, and isn't quite processed enough. I like the trance-y lead that comes in behind however starting at 0:45 though - it has good energy and has good presence in the mix.

I like the buildup starting at 1:19, but I think if you would add some white noise to it it would really make it shine. I would also cut the vocal samples at 1:31, I think that section would sound harder without them.

The mix actually isn't too bad so far, even before mastering, nice work on that! Not too bad of a vibe in this track either!

Nice kicks. They're heavy and take up space, but aren't too overbearing. Maybe take their volume down just a smidgen, but it's not interfering with anything in the mix.

Love the sidechaining that starts at 0:33. The subtleties of this track are just phenomenal - there is a lot of movement and elements that are changing and moving, yet it's all so subtle that you have to listen for each one to happen. It's really beautiful. My favorite is the little synth at the end of each 2nd bar - it's really space-y and gentle.

The guitar work is really awesome, though I'd throw some more reverb on the sample. I like the slight delay effects used though, helps to add even more to the mix and give the track some more variation.

I love the vinyl sound to this track, and the vibe is just perfect. I can visualize myself driving down a city road at night to this one, kicking back and vibing as I pass all the neon lights. Excellent work friend, I love it. :)

Nice complextro work, the synths and samples are unlike any others I've heard in the genre, which definitely sets you apart in a good way.

The kick comes through in the best way - it has good presence in the mix but is not overbearing and helps to carry the vibe along. The snare is also excellent. I love how short the cutoff is on it, and it helps give the track that extra "pop" that complextro thrives on.

Really great job with this, would love to hear more!!

I think #2 is better in terms of quality, but I like the beat and vibe of #1 better.

The buildup section in both is really well done, and the samples used are all super well handled and processed. I wouldn't change a thing on that.

The first drop, I thought the synths weren't the greatest to be honest. Especially the main wobble - it sits back really far in the mix and sounds really airy. The beat goes hard, but the synths don't match it.

The second's synths go harder, but I think the vibe is too hard and fast for a first drop, especially one that matches the buildup.

Just my thoughts man, like I said the buildup is super well done!!

I like the sample at the beginning, and the bird samples are awesome. The synths in the background behind the speech are really atmospheric and awesome.

Wow, the synth that comes in at 0:42...so awesome. Love the classic sound you made, it sounds really really nice. The kicks you used however I think could be filtered more in the high end, especially when they first come in. As I get to the main section of the track they fit a lot better, but I would start with some filter work when they come in, with maybe a bit of reverb as well.

Absolutely love the buildup and the main section. Wouldn't change a thing, aside from maybe adding another really high end lead.

Very awesome track man, got me to like and follow you. Great work :)

The track really jumps right in, which isn't a bad thing, but I was expecting some intro section or something.

The vocals are really atmospheric, with the perfect amount of reverb on them. The bass is mixed well underneath too, and I like the percussion samples, they all mix well together. Maybe make the kick just a little more punchy in the 120Hz region, but it still sounds solid.

Absolutely LOVE the little synth arp runs like at 1:24. Just beautiful work on those. The pads are really solid too, with nice airy feelings and lightness to them.

The acoustic guitar could be processed a bit more, but I like the lead that follows. I would put one more bar of buildup between 1:55 and 2:02 also to give the mix a bit more room to breathe before moving on to a new section. I would bring the bass out a little more in the drop as well, and vary the lead melody a bit more to break the repetition.

Very professional sounding though, and I love the song as a whole! Excellent work!!

Really really like "Finding Myself" and "Needs Vocals". Both have a more subdued vibe to them that I love, especially "Needs Vocals". The pad at the beginning is so lush alongside those hats and the mark tree samples. The future bass lead that comes in after fits perfectly as well, it's a really solid start, and you're right, may warrant some vocal work.

While I don't do vocals, I would definitely be up for seeing what I can add to those two tracks. I produce really chill stuff, however if that's what you're looking for, scope my Soundcloud and let me know what you think.

Really like the bass work actually, but the kick is a bit too muffled. I would bring out more high end on it, cut the bass's EQ around 120Hz, and bring the kick out right there. In addition to that, try to sidechain around the kick more for sure - that will really get it to punch through the mix.

I like the elements you have here though, the subtleties of the synths are very minimal. That little tiny pluck synth though I think could use some reverb - the one hitting between beats 1 and 2 of each measure.

Now that I listen on, I think you may actually have too much bass, or at least, too much sub bass. It begins to drown out the rest of the mix some, and as a result you have less impact on every other element.

Really not bad at all so far though, keep going on this one! I dig the vibe, and would club hard to it man.
