WIPs / Re: WIP (Moombathon)

I like the high triplet lead at the beginning, it's really tech-y and sounds good. The snares that come in though I'm not especially fond of, and think they could use a bit of EQ work. The first build is good, and the sweeps fit perfectly.

Alright I'm gonna be honest here: I hate the vocal samples used. I don't think they're very fit, and they take up a lot of space in the mix.

The mixing/mastering needs work ESPECIALLY at the low end (kicks don't stand out at all and bass isn't very recognizable), but this is a WIP so that's understandable.

One thing I really did like was the snare roll into the drop. It comes up again a couple times too, and those sounded really good.

There's a lot going on in the drops which is good, but I'm not sure if they fit well with each other. I know that probably sounds very vague, but I'm finding it hard to find the groove of the track and bounce to it. Maybe that was your intent though.

Keep going on this one, it definitely has potential!

WIPs / Re: Late night deep tech sessions, feedback needed :)

I don't love the kick selection, I think it's a bit too dry at the beginning.

Then again though, when the bass kicks in at 0:24 it really improves. I like the percussion work, and the tech fills are well done.

The build is really done and I like the variation in the bass near the end of it. When the drop comes back, I was looking for a little more in the high register. Perhaps a lead could already start to form there, as opposed to 1:41 where it really starts to kick in. LOVE the tech fills at 1:47, I'd love to hear more of that as well.

I think with some more bass variation and some more melodic work this could be an awesome track. It sounds really solid so far, nice job mate!

Sounds good, clearly its are intentionally chill and everything matches that well. You might want to try to re create the pluck because  the filtering as it fades in doesn't work as well as automating the plucks cutoff would.
Nice overall song tho. Really like the effects on the 'are you there' sample

Gotcha, that does make sense, and a good idea.

And thank you! :) I had a lot of fun doing this one.

My progressive house bootleg of deadmau5's "Your Ad Here". I added the "Are you there?" sample as well off of the "Are you there? edit" that he made of the original track.

Hope you enjoy it, it's free download as well!

Any and all comments/criticisms are welcome. <3

Liking the hats/shakers/percussion a lot, light and shuffly. You've got a steady groove going beneath that, it's simple but it works.

Overall atmosphere is cool, the filters on those incidental chords stabs are butter-soft and really nice

The intro chords have an unpleasant droning frequency at some points. Try EQing that out or perhaps toning down the resonance on that filter

The kick is really mid-heavy with a high thump, which kind of screws with the dark atmosphere. Maybe a different sample with its frequency peak somewhere lower and a bit more treble in the attack could work better?

Those short, sudden, thorough breaks were a bit disorienting for me, see if you can find something that sounds a bit more deliberate and less like the soundcard dropped out for a second :)

The horror-y vocal FX don't work as well as they could, I think. Maybe try experimenting with their pitch, or grain-stretch-reverb them, or do something else :) Might be necessary to switch out the sample

The pluck line doesn't integrate into the track, it's like it sits apart from the rest of the sound. This is probably a task for the EQ to take the edge off a little up top or softening the pluck's attack in the synth, perhaps some light sidechaining. You could also see if they need to be quite as loud in the first place. Also when it filters up the resonance may be a little too aggressive

Your arrangement spends a lot of time setting things up, and then a much smaller amount tearing them down, maybe you can spend some more time with the main part at the expense of some of the intro.

Thank you very much for your thorough feedback, I really really appreciate all your comments. Can't wait to start incorporating them in the track. :)

This Chill / Indie Dance Beat is very good ! Would be even better to hear that with a Break, instead of this Endless Progressive Track.
Keep it up ! I think, try to do a "Real" structure with Drop -> Break -> Riser -> 2nd Drop or something. As you want ^^
Cheers

Appreciate the feedback! :)

I actually really enjoy messing around with unorthodox song structures though, as opposed to what you called "real" structures. I find a lot of creativity is projected that way, and going by a template for how tracks should be laid out isn't really my thing.

Thanks though!

Looking for some feedback on this one before I send this out to some folks. It's a darker, ambient-ish true prog house track with a lot of layering and intricacies.

The track is probly 90% finished - the mixing/mastering still needs some work, and there's a couple sections I want to tighten up. May add another snare layer as well, but not definite on that.

As always, any and all comments and criticisms are welcome and encouraged.

Thank you all for your help. <3

Great job on the track, loving the feel it gives off. One little criticism, which could be just from my headphones:  it sounds like you've got a little bit too much going on at the high frequencies and it starts getting a little painful to listen to after a while.
Other than that good stuff, listened to some of your other tracks too, I really like the ambient works 2015 ones.

Thank you for the feedback! And for listening to my other tracks, I'm glad you like them :)

I really like the high hat work at the beginning, they're mastered very well with just enough reverb on them.

The paaaaads - they're so lush! Makes the track really funky.

You did a nice job with the vocals, they sit well in the mix.

The bass that comes in at 3:08 really makes this section great. Would have liked to see some more variation in the lead melody from bar to bar though. I think the EQing on the percussion that comes in could be a little on the higher end as well, but when the pads and main rhythms come back it all fits really nicely.

Nice remix, and love the track art!

Love the tone right off the bat. The bass isn't too heavy, and sets a really energetic pace. It really kicks up a notch too at 0:28, those kicks are really brought out in front. I can already tell that the mixing/mastering on this track is phenomenal.

The piano that comes in at 1:24 is extremely calm and I really like that, but I wish it was brought to the front just a pinch more. It's definitely made up for by the high lead that kicks in at 1:53 though.

Ahhhh the chord progressions and melodies! Very uplifting. The track began flowing really quickly, I like that.

Mmmm, that piano at 2:41. You guys did a great job writing that. So natural. It has a touch too much high pass filter on it for my taste and could use some more reverb, but the melody it creates is astounding. This section is quite a bit longer than I expected too, but it's not too long. At no point do I get bored of it.

The beautiful arp-synth section starts off very nicely, and it's mastered well so that it cuts through the pads and other layers. All of the saw synths fit together like a glove.

This is some great trance. Love what you've done with this track. I went ahead and followed, can't wait to hear more! :)

Finished Tracks / Re: Level Up- What kind of genre would this be?

You could probly label this as Electro, or Dark Electro in my opinion.

Aside from that, I really like the vocal sampling that you used, it fits well and adds some nice variance and layering.
Love the section that starts at 2:22.
