You Might Like... / Re: What producer blows your mind

Right now: No Mana, he sure knows his synths. Although i think Deadmau5 is whispering a tad bit too much in his ear..

Oh and yeah, deadmau5 ofc. Not in the recent years, but "back in the day" at faxing berlin, some chords and I remember... That were the days. Now it feels like he's just kind of making weird stuff, trying so hard to make something new that he's not doing something he likes.

Mat is ofc really good, and lately i've taken a liking to Don Diablo. Don is just amazing at making any track really "dancey" (?). You cannot sit still listening to his tracks and remixes

Posting this here since i don't know where else to

So a "bugs" section would be kind of nice maybe?

But anyway! This is how the sticky in "inspiration" looks, with the issues stylefully marked in absolutely dashing red color (it's only a "+X" sign number and a dot). Also the 0.083 hours is kind of confusing, I'm good at math, but not THAT good at math.

End of pictures.

Oh and btw! Personally i'd love to be able to "un-upvote" as well, sometimes one missclicks

i think it's a great idea. it's not like you're redirecting them into the hands of a competing forum, likely any remix contests will be over splice/wavo/etc and they'll come back here to post their new fresh remix in the WIP section  ;)

Hmm.. yeah that's true actually. Then it would only spread publicity and increase activity.

Ok i'm all for it!

Not hosting competitions on this site tho

Automation is just awful in FL studio, but other than that it's great.

It's easy to learn, hard to master kind of deal. Very rewarding for the input time, especially for beginners

Varies widely for me since I don't have that much time and since the more i listen to a track i've made, the worse i thing it is (when i technically can't produce it any better because of my skills i just start to get mad at myself and dislike it and often make it worse).

But I've had one project which i must've laid like 30-40 hours or so, didn't turn out very nicely IMO, and my favorite and best one todate were like 5-6 hours

Biggest inspiration right now must be No Mana. Jesus that guy has some skills, and huuuge potential.

Other than that i've always loved mat and arty, although i think arty has gone far to mainstream the past couple of years, not a big fan of everything after "Together we are"

WIPs / Re: Vocalist & Feedback Needed [Future Bass/Heaven Trap]

Left comments on sc! TLDR; Nicely produced, i were kind of confused by the structure and the energies

I agree with alot of previous posters, it could use some shortening!

The bass became kind of repetitive now since it's rather long. Now I can't really tell you how to fix it, since i don't know how to, but the drop felt somewhat underwhelming.

I think that if you take only the parts of the song you really 100% like, remove the rest, reduce it to about 3-4 min, you'll have a banger!

Whoa there buddy, relax on the font size.

No, I don't agree. I really hope this stays a "old school" forum where the things which deserve publicity get's publicity through replies on the topic and where you have to actually put in some effort to get the information which you want. I'm sick of all the "lay back, never activate your brain" stuff which is all over the internet, but that's just me.

And then it would be very bias and kind of unfair to a lot of threads. Say 95% of all the threads holds excelent quality, then only 1 of those threads get publicity, or get a much higher amount of publicity. Feels unfair somehow, but that's just my silly oldschool bitter opinions.

Cool idea, unsure if mat 'n mods would like to direct people away from the site though. I'm not sure what their business plan is or if there even exists one (srsly... who's paying for all this??), but well... directing people away from your own thing is never a good thing

I second this. Really want to see this as a trend around the forum, on whatever you're making.

Have a general "[Genre] Song Name | Comments regarding the song/WIP/whatever" name structure for everything regarding a song would be very useful.

The best way to enforce this is to simply start doing it yourself! If it's done by respected members for some time it will spread by itself and become standard

R&A Graveyard / Re: Introduction Thread
« on: January 08, 2016, 01:02:31 pm »
I asked mat zo this (in a pm), and he thought that that's something for social media, that this is a strictly music forum. Now, don't take my word for it, and but if he doesn't reply to this thread that's roughly his view on the site, at least regarding a "General/social" section of the forum. But as said, I'm not speaking for him! Only conveying what he said to me.

Although it might change if we're nagging enough! Personally i think it's a good idea.

As long as people start marking their topics with what kind genera it is (for example [Deep House]) when it's applicable (as in WIP and finished track section) it should be fine.
