Inspiration/Creativity/Motivation / Do you force yourself to sleep?
« on: April 15, 2016, 10:53:31 am »
I know a lot of it was discussed in work ethic topic, but I'm interested in this detail in particular.

It's 1am. You're staring at the screen. Track goes on and on. You know what to do, but you're not sure about that one little thing you want to solve. You're sure once you've solved it, the rest will be a piece of cake. ...but it's 3am out of the sudden.

Do you stop somehow and force yourself to get a proper chunk of sleep? If so, how? I fail to do this every. single. time.

Finished Tracks / Wish I Was - Never Loved Me (FarleyCZ remix)
« on: April 15, 2016, 10:33:23 am »
Ok, so this happened:

(I'm longtime tyDi fan, so this is pretty surreal.)

It's not perfect, I might have played with pads a bit more, also the beat is probably a bit too loud... But it happened anyway. It's nice to be happy about something for a change. :)
Hope you like it. :)

I definitely like to automate the pitch manually. Two reasons: It leaves you with modulation slots available for further LFOing of the pitch. ...and also you can tweak it exactly to length and shape you need.

Sounds clean to me too. Cool song btw. :)

Relaxing. Love it. I agree with the kick, but don't overdo it while fixing. Imho just a little. :)

Every single day from the time I go to sleep to the time I wake up it haunts my head in repetitive motion. How do I get better, improve..? It's come to the point where it's all I can think of the entire day without rest even when I eat hell when I sleep I dream of it...I don't know if this obsession to become better even greater than I was yesterday every single day is healthy or not but, I like it.... would this be a problem then?

It's good that you want to improve but be VERY careful about this attitude. It's this exact same attitude that led me to neglect a lot of things in my younger years. Basically... don't forget to eat, exercise, take breaks, and give attention to your loved ones. You don't need to become a savant in order to get better and improve. Keep in mind that when you want something extremely bad and aren't able to get it you can easily end up getting frustrated.
VERY true! ...not only frustrated. You can look back in few years and find out that you've missed some quite cool or important experiences. Especially social ones. Careful with that! Dreams are sweet, but don't let them take over your whole life.

I don't think this is an issue. We can make sticky post about it. Nobody would be "obligated" to collab.

It's all natural. I feel kinda the opposite lately. I was "obsessed" like this too. Thinking about what to try next pretty much all the time. ...and I was proud of it. Remembering like it like it was yesterday. Sitting in a classs quietly figuring out what amp sims can be good for, or how to make lowend "booms". For some reason this state arrives much less frequently these days. Usually when I have totally nothing to do + no access to computer (long car drives) or when watching SeamlessR videos. Otherwise it got a bit colder lately.

...I think this is more likely to be a problem.

DT770 user here. Noticed something similar one day, but it a was dirty connector. Unplugged, plugged back in and everything was ok. ...but I guessyou've tried that already.

Thank you! Listening back I totally agree, the vocals are a definitely bit buried in there. And just to make sure, which sections are you referring to as the breakdowns?
No problem. 2:39 - 3:25

...there would be on top once again Hardstyle and uplifting/classic trance.
Agreed about classic Trance. On the other hand for some strange reason Hardstyle seems wierdly logical. ...or may be I'm just too amused by the idea of kids melbourne shuffleing their way to school while staring at a smartphone screen. :D

I guess there's some kind of circuit in there to ensure silent switching. That probably makes the price.

I think (or hope?) it's gonna go minimalistic. Those loud monophonic extremely layered and effected über-drops will die. I believe another shift to IDM will come eventually. Some stuff is actually headed this way already.

Mixing/Mastering / Re: Peaks Increase When Removing Sub-bass
« on: April 10, 2016, 05:55:34 pm »
...or the subbass might have been way louder than highend peak, so when you got it away, the peak went throught the compressor un-attenuated causing a loud transient. If it was compressed, definitely try the experiment again without compression.
