WIPs / Re: Trance Breakdown and drop help
« on: March 10, 2017, 05:22:16 am »
The breakdown is really smooth and pretty but I'd say that the vocals should probably continue into the part after the beat in the beginning or there should be an actual transition (riser/downlifter) to seperate them and the buildup is good but there should probably be a little uplifter in the build and a little downlifter when the drop starts to give it a little extra energy. Other than that it has good potential but I'd also say you should maybe work on the drop a little more it sounds like it needs something extra toward the beginning. Good job :)

These vibes are so awesome it does need vocals though its kinda dry right now outside of the drops but the mix sounds tight and everything sounds clean... Good job

Any feedback at all is welcome but I've been trying to work on mixing and mastering a little bit more lately so any feedback on that as well would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

And the breaks and buildups are supposed to have vocals but I havent had any luck yet finding any

Making yet another remix and I would love some feedback. There's no drop 3 and the third buildup is just percussion so disregard everything after the second drop for now... Thanks a lot guys :)

Collaborations / Haven't actually ever done a collab so why not
« on: January 22, 2017, 07:46:54 am »
I've never done a collab before and making music alone is getting a tad frustrating and I want to make something new. I'm okay to make pretty much anything but Trap, Prog House, and hardstyle are the genres I would prefer.

Artist Name: Zali
Years Experience: One
DAW: Ableton
Genre: Trap
Other Genres: Prog House and Hardstyle
Third Party Plugins: Serum, Sylenth, Massive, and sometimes Nexus
Preferred Contact Method: PM here on the forum or a reply to this post would be fine

That's pretty much it if you wanna hear anything I've made recently you can go into the WIP section and take a look at my post there it has a few of my more recent projects... Thanks for reading :D

WIPs / A few WIP's because its been way too long...

https://soundcloud.com/strocksu/o15/s-3SBkO
https://soundcloud.com/strocksu/o18-wip/s-bK1Da (Disregard the 3rd drop because I don't like this song too much)
https://soundcloud.com/strocksu/new-dub-2/s-pF1v6
https://soundcloud.com/strocksu/live-out-loud/s-0JKUN

None of these are mastered at all and some of them were uploaded without limiters on the master track so they're quiet and clip sometimes but the whole point is the idea... New Dub 2 and Live Out Loud are the most recent and any feedback (on any of them) would be much appreciated :) Thanks a lot

WIPs / Re: Syrenne - I Need That Stuff
« on: December 06, 2016, 01:13:28 am »
It sounds great so far I really like it :D One thing I'd say is that the hi-hat should be quieter and the snare should be louder but other than that the mix is good

Side note that's totally unrelated to your song: Can you help me with mastering? I'm having a hard time with it and it has me really salty :P (Where I'm at musically without mastering here: https://soundcloud.com/strocksu/o13/s-opA6E)

So I took a trip to your soundcloud and I really like this guitar stuff you got going on you wanna maybe collab or something sometime? (I use Ableton to answer that inevitable question I just wanna spice up what I'm doing).

This is definitely really interesting I really like the guitar how did you do it? Also, what's Neutron?

And a side note: Knowing how to mix manually is a good skill because it goes beyond just high passes and low passes there are static formants and things like that which are a part of mixing that are good to know :P

Well the way to counter that is to not listen to that song for a few days and then come back and give it another listen... Other than that your songs will just naturally improve over time there's really no rush to release these songs.

Okay so the vocals sound decently off tempo (the song is originally at 152 and yours is at 132 I don't think its stretched right) and musically this isn't great I'm sorry to say... Not to shit on your life or anything but just to provide some criticism for you to hopefully improve

If you're happy with it, then I'd say its a wrap for this project... The mix sounds fine and there's nothing to add really cause its your song and if you like it how it is then keep it as is. Good job :)

WIPs / Re: So I made this small snippet
« on: November 17, 2016, 11:59:21 am »
I mean if you feel like its too fast the ez pz thing to do is to turn the BPM down to like 140 because thats still a breakbeat tempo and if you're trying to do a DnB/Future combo 140 is a suitable BPM for both of those genres... And if thats too fast keep going down until it suits you it doesn't necessarily have to be a cookie cutter BPM for the genre and its not possible to make a song slightly slower paced at a given BPM its pretty much on tempo or half time so turning it down or half time are really the easiest options you have... It sounds good so far though :D
