Sound Design / How could I recreate this atmospheric arp?
« on: January 09, 2016, 11:51:43 pm »
Anyone know how to make a similar sounding atmospheric arp to these 2 songs:

throughout the beginning of Icarus by Madeon

About 11 secounds in Infinitum by Ninth Parallel

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3M_1o0XZhU

I have tried countless methods but nothing I try sounds quite like these 2 songs.

(Note, i am not trying to rip off Ninth Parallel and Madeon, I just want to know how they did it)

Thanks!

would posting a topic in the WIP section titled "Looking for Collaborator" or something like that be appropriate?

Probobly my favorite moment in dance music history. Deadmau5 is amazing.

I thought I would start a topic that could serve as a place to post videos that inspire you to work hard and achieve your goals.

(relevance to this topic ends at about 3:00 btw)

This is a short video by Casey Neistat (who if you don't watch regularly, I HIGHLY recommend you do so.) I thought I would share this, it is super inspiring when applied to my specific goals, hope it can do the same for you.

They did an official remix of Selena Gomez that's on her spotify account, it's amazing and everyone's sleeping on it. Grey are next level.

Inspiration/Creativity/Motivation / Re: What/Who inspired you to start?
« on: January 08, 2016, 06:13:50 am »
In 2011, was obsessed with youtube, and the community that surrounded it. I was watching Epic Meal Time, and they had an episode with a man in a fully chromed out Mouse helmet. I heard "Cthulhu sleeps" and I was Instantly hooked. Over the next year I became the weird kid who listened to "Techno" music. Inevitably, I started looking into electronic music production soon after. Deadmau5 gave me a new outlook on music and I am forever grateful.

I completely agree. Forcing inspiration can be so exhausting to the creative mindset. Constantly working on production skill until something clicks is how I go about it.

30
I often come across writers block after I finish a song or project that I have been working on exclusively for a long time. I usually try and take a 2-3 day break from production to listen to new music and get the creative juices flowing. I also find it helpful try to leave my house, if I can, and interact with people I like being around.

What keeps your ideas fresh?
