WIPs / Re: Lo-Fi work in progress, what are your thoughts? :)
« on: March 27, 2016, 05:50:58 am »
Love the song, but on my particular headphones, it sounded like I was listening through a wall. Maybe
some sort of filtering issue? Given, I have no experience with lo-fi, and that may just be the style.
Just seemed like an absence of high end. Otherwise tho, the beat was catchy and smooth, and it was
funky and fun to listen to. Killin' it :)

Great listen! The subtle detunations make it interesting, and your sounds flow together very smoothly.
It seems like a stylistic choice, but your drums are quite drowned. It sounds good, it just depends what
you're going for :) I adore the part around 1:30, just gorgeous. Awesome full sound. You've earned a

Very reminiscent of old video game soundtracks :)
You might consider mixing the drums in the beginning so they stand out a little more. They've kind-of been
bit-crushed into oblivion haha. Also, your build could benefit from a white noise sweep and maybe some more
snares. Otherwise it's inventive and unique :) great work

I like this a lot :)
If I had to point out one thing to improve on, I'd say the bass is a little too heavy around the 1:50 mark.
And maybe drop at 2:30 could be softened a little on the high-end, it comes out a little harsh.
Otherwise I love the contrast in the progression, and find the calmer parts very soothing.
Genial!

Contrary to what our boy Przemoemo has to say, I actually like the track. I think the drums are done
very tastefully except potentially the kick at 1:20 which sounds ever-so-slightly out of tune. I would
however, throw in a little more high in. Maybe some pads or an arp? Just a suggestion :) good work,
you seem far more advanced than your follower level, so I'm following you.

This is very smoothly mixed. It all sounds quite clean and coherent. My only complaint is that the
snare that comes in around 50 seconds doesn't play very well wit the other elements. Maybe consider
getting a fuller sample for it? Otherwise it's great :) followed!

Came here to give you some feedback but your link is broken, I'll come check back later :)

Thanks for the feedback Mhaun!
I agree actually, the vocals sound a little weak. I had to use a cover for the vocals because there isn't an acapella,
so they're a little over-processed :c Definitely gonna put some work into fixing that.

Hello Yanny :)
I like the track! However, I find that you main synth could maybe benefit from a little chorus or expansion.
Sometimes it falls a little flat against the background, especially in the drop. However, your piano is very full,
and the chord progression is pleasant.
Good work, keep it up!

I love the track. Great old sci-fi film feel to it. If I had to comment on any sound it would be the claps that
come in around 3:10. At first they feel a little out of place, like they don't have enough substance. When
they speed up, they start to form a bit better, but I still think they benefit from a little mid boosting :) The
grinding, modulating, bass synth near the end adds this wonderful atmospheric texture to the song.
Awesome job, can't wait to hear more from you!

For 9 months of production experience this is great :)
Maybe try and extentuate the low end of those kicks a little, otherwise, no complaints.
Your progression is excellent, and you use interesting synths. I especially like that gritty bass that carries throughout it.
Great work!

Not to get too abstract, but I feel like your track tells a good story, and that makes it an exciting listen.
Also the thunder and ambient noise really help with the feel. Great work :)

Nice groove around 40 seconds, and those vocal chops are really catchy. The percussion is also very fun, and not cookie-cutter. Followed :)

Very relaxed, kinda flume-esque, I like it. Keep up the good work man!

Big fan of this :) the progression is very engaging, and I like the way it starts soft then drops hard near the end, and the bass is unique. It definitely sounds like the soundtrack for a sci-fi short film. You've definitely earned a like and a follow :)
