Finished Tracks / Re: Amusing Trap Remix of Local Amateur Rapper
« on: June 09, 2016, 02:45:03 am »
I dig it.

Thanks man!
The sub falls off a note or two in pitch and has some interesting volume animation. nothing special, but I'm glad you like it :)

Finished Tracks / Amusing Trap Remix
« on: June 08, 2016, 07:13:58 pm »
This is a bootleg I did as a joke of a famed local rapper - dflem.
Honestly I got a little carried away and made it a whole song. Excluding the vocals, I'd love some feedback on the track!

I will return all feedback :)

Thanks, NewPatrol

Really unique percussion, and the progression is interesting. If I had to give any criticism, it would be that the bass in the melodic
sections gets very very gritty on its higher frequencies, and that tends to cancel out everything. It gets particularly pronounced
around the 5:00 minute mark. Otherwise a very cool, unique track. Good work!

I think the buildup could be stronger, it could use a crescendo on the strings and percussion.

Thanks, I'll definitely try that, it's just been a bit of a struggle finding a crescendo that goes well with the theme while
not drowning out the rest of the track. I'm working on the snare, and I understand what you guys are saying. Definitely
needs work haha. Thanks for the feedback :)

Hi there. I've just listened to your song, and now I'm going list what I like about it and what I didn't.

This is easily some of the best feedback I've received on a wip :)
I agree with you on almost all counts, but if you could clarify a few things I'd be very appreciative. How is the beginning forced? I think you're
correct, but how would I rectify it? I was thinking potentially waiting a measure or two before introducing the vocals? I'm definitely going to soften
the strings a little, at least at the start. Also, which kick and snare are you referring to? Or all of them? I didn't notice the hats while making it, but
I think you have a good point, they are a little overpowering. Also, as far as the ending is concerned, it's really just a placeholder.

Again, thank you, all incredibly helpful. I'll definitely put some thought into what you've said.

WIPs / Re: Where can i take this?

I really like this track. :D
I'd say at some point around 1:35, drop the percussion and put in something flowing and melodic.
Maybe piano? I feel like it holds together well, but could use a more defined theme, which you could
implement effectively by adding a non-chopped or bent section. Just to remind listeners what they're
listening to. Otherwise it's fantastic.

WIPs / COME AS YOU ARE - Nirvana Remix WIP

Hi everyone  ;D
This mixdown is a little messy, but I'd really appreciate some feedback or constructive criticism
on the WIP. I've reached a point where I'm not sure where to go with it, and would love an
outside opinion or two from you talented individuals. I'll gladly return any feedback.

Love the sound at the beginning. I think the plucks at 20 seconds clip a little much, and it hurts the overall
togetherness of the track. Your kicks are also a little soft. And maybe try and hold back with the sound variety
a little on the drop ;) I definitely like the track though. followed.

The strings are loud, and it's a little messy. I like it musically tho!
Thanks for the feedback, love your work! I know it's messy, I've been trying to clean it up, but unfortunately I
don't have a clean acapella, so everything does sound a little distant and muddy. Going to put most of my work
into fixing that :)

- After this buildup the track really has to blow up :) Needs a huge wall of sound.
Thanks for the feedback :) I'll get right on that wall of sound haha
Same as before though, thanks for the comments on the mix, I'll try and capitalize on what you suggested and
clean it up a little.

WIPs / Re: ID | 120bpm electro stuff

I actually like the intro. You got strange and different, but if you really want it to fit, I'd add some more atmospheric effects.
Just make it feel a little less plain. Otherwise it's very coherent, and I like the overall sound signature :) Maybe more white
noise on the snares, all your drums fall a tiny bit flat. Can't wait to hear it finished!

This is great! Really fun, bouncy, happy tune. I would suggest adding some softer mids, maybe
a piano melody or some chords, because as Arktopolis said, it gets a little tiring. But really well
put together overall, and your drums are crisp and fitting. Awesome :)

The beginning falls ever-so-slightly flat, but when it hits about 30 seconds, those emotional
vibes start to come out :) Also the whole field of sound at one minute is phenomenal. Great Work!

I like this a lot, it's a great style. However, I think your vocal chops could be tuned in a little better,
and the pulsation of the de-tuned saws results in a fluctuating effect on the master volume, which makes
it a little hard to follow with headphones on. Awesome structure though, I'll be thrilled to hear a finished
version if you get around to it :)

Around 15 seconds it gets very muddy very fast. Maybe a little less reverb? The chord progression is good,
and overall it goes quite coherently, but I think the main pluck could use a little more development :)

WIPs / Re: Electronica WIP with a very happy melody

Love the soft percussion, very personal and relaxing. Cute is a good word for it. Maybe lower the bass
around 40 seconds, just for the sake of holding onto the style of the beginning. Feels a bit like the music
for a loading screen on some simplistic catchy video game. Great stuff :)
