Finished Tracks / Re: Don't Steal My Ghost

I think the mixdown is super clean.  I kinda like the vocal cut.  It's odd.  Maybe could use some cleaning to fit the vibe a bit, but overall it sounds really nice.  Great work, dude.

I first thought the reverb was a little much in the breakdown, but it almost becomes its own pad, and I realized I like it.  You can still hear the vocal really clearly, so I don't think it draws away too much.  I think it's great.  Overall really really nice job, dude.

Hey, thank you all so much.  Save for the a couple percussion samples, I designed every sound myself.  Including the kick and the bass.  Pretty proud of this one and greatly appreciate the compliments.  Cheers.  (Send me your tunes so I can check out your stuff as well.)

I just finished this track recently.  I drew inspirations from many different artists.  Let me know what you think, if you feel so inclined.

Composition/Arrangement/Theory / Re: Song structure & arrangement
« on: January 06, 2016, 03:50:02 am »
This might be of limited application, but I think it's the simplest way to explain it, esp if you're in the stage where you're still stuck in loops. NGHTMRE explains this better in his master class, found on Youtube.

You can essentially treat your fully developed loop as the "drop", and treat the rest of the song as stripped down elements of your "drop". This definitely helps you develop an early stage of continuity. This is definitely something I still struggle with as well.

I really really really like this.  I think visual representations can help a lot.  Thank you so much for sharing this simplified structure.

I once watched an interview with Morgan Page about his producing process.  His drive was to finish each song as quickly as reasonably possible so that you don't allow yourself to get so used to your own song.  I find myself doing this all the time.  I have yet to really put his suggestion into practice but I thought it was worth mentioning.  That also forces you to finish entire songs and really get used to the full composition process so that each song gets easier to finish.

Also I have totally gone back to 3/4 finished tracks and found huge inspiration in what I had left behind at the time.  I think it would be worth it to dig up the ones from way back to see what sort of good material you may have a different perspective on now.

I know I didn't say much, but I struggle with the same thing.  I thought I would share my uneducated thoughts at the very least.  Hahaha.  Cheers, dude.  Best of luck with your tunes.
