Would really appreciate feedback on this track (especially mix wise)

thank you!! I'll definitely sort that out in the rework of this version

what do you guys think? The verse section is super bare bones but the short build and drop are pretty much final. Would love to hear if you think it fits together well

first of all, CONGRATS! that sounds really cool. imo communication with the other artist is key. taking some time to find out what you both bring to the table, and what both of your visions are, will help a lot. get familiar with his other work if u arent, and encourage him to do the same!

get contracts, get payment arranged in writing. if anyone says "we don't need a contract, u can trust me," that's a pretty big red flag, but im guessing things are on the up and up there. for basic Industry(tm) stuff, one of the managers of Heroic Records has a lot of good resources. basically, now that there's money being exchanged, it's a good idea to treat it like a job, albeit a job that you enjoy a lot.

eidolon, thank you so much! very helpful advice. The link was a very informative read. I agree about the payment being in writing, I sent an invoice and had a 50% advance deposit done before kicking things off properly

Hey guys! So, I've been producing and playing music for a couple of years and I just got my first overseas paid production gig (woo!). I have to compose, record and mix a track for a singer/songwriter based in the UK and I have a week to get it done. I've been sent the acapella for the song idea right now and will get in touch with the artist over email/skype by the end of today. the only problem is I'm an absolute noob and this the first time I'll be dealing with a client professionally so I really need some tips, guidlines, steps (anything!) that would help me go about this the right way. I'm really not sure what steps I need to follow.  Any and all advice would help guys!

I'd really appreciate some feedback on anything and everything I've made so far (mixing, arrangement, sound design) and pointers on how I can improve it. Heard the track too many times to make any drastic changes to it right now but will visit it again tomorrow.

Nice work, I really liked the trap switchup.  ;D

Have you considered switching to a trappier snare during that section?

you're right this one doesn't sit as well as id like it to tbh. thanks alot for the feedback! :)

Really like the snaps and the gated pluck synth at the beginning, they both fit with the vocals really well. I would say maybe add some additional high end on the snaps, and the vocals seems just a bit subdued, but neither are a huge issue.

Holy nice drop, Batman.
Absolutely love the vocal chopping/mixing work. The snap right before the bass was awesome as well and really fit the vibe. There's good synth work underneath, and I love the little additional effects at the end of every 4 bars - especially the little percussion hit riiiiiight before 1:00.
I actually don't think the bass sounds too bad either. I would say sidechain it to the kicks and stuff to give it more variation and life, but it's really not bad otherwise.

Really nice track man, I love it! Mix the final and you are good to go. Nice work with this one. :)

thank you so much!!! <3 really happy to hear you like it :)

made pretty much in a whole day (16 hours now). It's like 2:25 am and I honestly cant tell what needs fixing but I am really proud of how most of it turned out. will go back tomorrow and work on the final mixed version so ignore the shitty bass for now. I really wanted to post this on hear and get some laser ears on my track to see what needs fixing (anything really just fire away)  :D

Really solid idea here. Build and drop parts sound really nice.

In terms of the break, it seemed a little barren. I know it's a fast breakdown, but some louder, more dynamic sounds would be good.

Thank you for the feedback!!  :) I agree the break could've used more work. I'll be sure to add that in rasengan mk2

Cymatics takes the cake for me, to my ears it sounds alot better than the vengeance stuff. I've heard about KRNE's packs being really good too, need to check em out
