Might be overcompression.

Damn dude, that's really good. The only thing I would do is add a bit more resonance on the filter at the end, just to make it pop out a bit more. It's up to you though.

I feel like the lead synth is too loud. I also worry about it getting lost in mono, as it sounds mostly stereo.

You definitely need a punchier kick. Other than that, nice track!

Your sub bass is way too quiet, I had to turn up my volume to check if it was actually there. Other than that, nice track! Really good composition, got me groovin.

I'm not going to mention volume control and compression, because even though they are important, they've been mentioned several times already. The biggest thing you need to do is add a sub bass, because without the sub bass, your track sounds very thin. I would also pick different kick and snare samples, as the ones you are using sound pretty weak. Lastly, you need to bring up the volume of the kick, and sidechain harder. Hope this helps!

I'm surprised nobody has told you to add a bass layer to the supersaw. You are completely missing that frequency range, and the song sounds really thin without it. Good luck!

The lead needs more character. I'd suggest turning it into a pluck, and dropping it an octave for starters. After that I'd add some effects to it, you can decide which effects you want to use. Other than that, and what's already been mentioned, it sounds good so far! :)

The chords tho.

I'm curious to know what everyone does to make their supersaws hit their audience in the face. What techniques do you use?

Such a buzzword provoking topic. :) A quick story: I have a friend, we know each other for a looong time. He likes epic music, big orchestral pieces and some heavier rock. We always get in a fight about Coldplay. I love them and think they're one of the most "emotional" and heartfelt bands in pop music. ...which is why he drives me crazy as everytime he hears them he goes: "They got their name right. Their music is so COLD! No emotions at all, awful." ...and that's why this topic is just a little odd. What seems warm and fuzzy to you might be sad for someone else.

But as my melodies go, they end up melancholic a lot of times. :)

Pretty weird that he doesn't sense any emotion in Coldplay's music. I agree with you, and think that they are one of the most emotional bands in pop music.

3. Remove or add notes, or move notes around, until it sounds right.

Pretty much me with melodies.

Any idea how SOPHIE creates sound effects like latex gloves, balloon popping, bubbles (?), etc. Do you think he analyzes the wave shape of a recorded sound and tries to recreate in a synth? Any idea what VST he uses? Thanks.

Probably just samples.
