Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes (Flowstate Remix)
« on: January 31, 2017, 11:17:41 pm »
Hi all! It's been a while since I've been on here but I wanted to share a remix I'm working on right now. I know, the original is nearly perfect but I couldn't resist trying my hand at it. I took a minimal trance approach with a blend of progressive trance. Let me know what you think! (:

This is a well constructed track.
Josh Huval: Honestly, the guys who are making good art are spending their time making it.

thanks man! It was a pretty fluid production process, something that I don't come by too often unfortunately haha.

Nice to hear from you, hope you've been well.

this is really good man. The only things i think you should tweak is to let the riser and the white noise in the intro end around 0:30 or 0:31 so the vocal can stand on it's own right before the bassline hits around 1:00. Also...the build up before the drop seemed a bit too quiet and it didn't sound like there was a lot going on. I wasn't sure if that was done intentionally or if you're still working on that.

This isn't super necessary to do, but maybe introduce the piano chords around 2:02 but low pass it and slowly open the filter so the listener knows it's coming at 2:24. Just a thought =)

Other than that, great ideas here! Keep it up.

Well constructed track indeed.  This is awesome! the drop was a very pleasant surprise.  Listened all the way through.  Now Im gonna do my own remix haha, didnt know this was available!

Only constructive criticism I have right now is at 4:22 when the kick is solo right before the wall of sound hits.  It's good and im actually satisfied with it, but if i had the project file opened in front of me, then I would try using a finger snap instead or mess around with a couple short percussion layers just to see what it sounds like.

again, great work!

I'll check out these points! Thanks for the feedback mate, I want to find a way to make the build fuller but at the same time cut it to something minimal again before the drop. So we'll see what happens!

Thanks for your feedback man, I'll mess around with 4:22 and see if I can create something that stimulates the progression of the song.

Yeah I was ecstatic when I found out they released the vocal track, such a fun song to work on. Here's the link, you can download it directly from here! https://soundcloud.com/davedresden/motorcycle-as-the-rush-comes-full-acappella-2014

Really good stuff man! The whole thing flows really nicely, and everything is mixed well. My only comment would be that the Bass that comes in at 0:37 feels a bit dry...perhaps some messing around with a chorus and some distortion would help a bit.  Good work!
