[Q] Making dancy drops (House tracks)
« on: March 21, 2016, 06:49:49 pm »
Hi guys!

I'm having troubles with making my drops feel dancy. When I listen to this track (an the next one too) by Martin Garrix, I can feel the drive to dance. I lack this in my own projects. And I'm trying to find a solution to this. It also causes me to finish my projects less frequently.

I posted a similar post but from a different angle. That one was more about my melodies but also a bit about this subject.

Do you have any tips? I have a private SC playlist with 3 unfinished tracks. Maybe it gives you also an idea of what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks in advance! :)

What I heard is mostly just mixing problems, the songs and melodies themselves are good and "danceable" just work on your mixing. A few things that helps make a dance track is creating a groove and using sidechain compression.

Well there sort of is, but you have to create it yourself. How do you think people make $ off of ghost producing

You won't though, the formula actually seems very simple, but as the other guy said, you have to find it yourself, the ones that know it won't tell you or they would be loosing money, and that's exactly the opposite of the purpose of the formula, you need to find it yourself. All you can find in the internet is shitty attempts, they wouldn'¡t be making videos about it if they knew it. Unless if by hard enough you mean analyzing the tracks cause that's a good way to find it!
