Mixing/Mastering / Re: Side-chain

Anyone use the grossbeat sidechain in FL?

Yeah Gross beat is awesome for 4/4 tracks. However the Fl limiter and automation still get used for the special cases of Side-chain. I know a gate isn't strictly "Sidechain' yet it does tame audio signals in a fashion similar to sidechain.

Bounce Generation by TJR & VINAI. When I make that switch from listening to that track to my track its always easy to tell if my track isn't banging. I know this isn't really a reference track but a good way to reference tracks also is to DJ mix and if your tracks aren't holding up with the other tracks boom then you know you need more work.

Multi bands can sometimes be used as like a mulitband distortion. Or helping with like vocals that have some weird transients. Thats what I have used it for, sometimes mastering some times not.

From time to time it varies. My master chain usually goes like this: Leather handle, iron linked chain, then ball gag. Sorry wrong master chain.

1st subtle EQ - can consist of boosting & cutting but usually very wide and small amounts

2nd some sort of imaging - adding a slight chorus to higher Freq or Ozone stereo imager or M/S eq or distortion. (you don't need ozone you can use other multi bands that have stereo separation and/or stereo saturation)

3rd Compression - either it be a stock, waves or the maximizer on the soft or hard release (Setting differ from track)

4th Add a distortion plug in or something besides a limiter to cut it off.

I am not saying this is the only or even the "correct" way but this has worked for me.

I gotta go with my favorite genre I always try and put some elements of satire in any music I work on.

It is a bootleg I made of two tracks. Originally called "Attention Suck My Dick" but I don't think the forum would want me to post something with that kind of subject.

Other day I had to fight against Commander Tom & DickHeadz. Any feedback would be cool.

Try using distortion on clap and drums to bring them out. Putting a distortion on by it self isn't good enough you will have to play around with a combo of eq's and distortions. Hope this helps!
