Welcome to Composition/Arrangement/Theory! This is where you can share and discuss everything relating to the fundamentals of music. This includes melodies, harmonies, chord progressions, time signatures, and basically anything that doesn't relate to the technical aspect of music production.

Enjoy!

Welcome to the mixing/mastering sub-forum! Here, you can talk about all things mixing and mastering related. Before you post in this sub-forum, here's a brief description of what mixing and mastering entails:

Mixing (or “mixing down”) is the process which commences after all tracks are recorded and edited as individual parts. The mixing process can consist of various processes but are not limited to setting levels, setting equalization, using stereo panning, and adding effects. The way the song is mixed has as much impact on the way it sounds as each of the individual parts that have been recorded. Dramatic impacts on how the song affects the listeners can be created by minor adjustments in the relationship among the various instruments within the song.

Mastering, a form of audio post-production, is the process of preparing and transferring recorded audio from a source containing the final mix to a data storage device (the master); the source from which all copies will be produced (via methods such as pressing, duplication, or replication).
