Sound Design / Re: Make The Weirdest Sound You Can!

Is importing an image into Harmor cheating? Because if so I'd love to give it another shot.

Also, I'm probably going to do it again... and again... and again... Because a bunch of sounds like this could turn into a really crazy/glitchy drop.

WIPs / Re: Unfinished Orchestral Track

I love it. It has power. I think the next step would be to open things up a bit. Experiment with panning/study how orchestras have everything laid out and work off of that, but be careful to make sure that your low end stays in mono.

P.S. I really like that bell sound that pops up at 1:10. Maybe incorporate it more after about 1:24?  :D

lydian, that piano sounds so nice. what library do you use?

Alicia keys my friend from Kontakt.

Wow, you made something really beautiful there. I'm going to have it stuck in my head for a while.  ;D

I tried to rearrange things so you could see them, and I'd be more than happy to open up a few piano rolls if you'd like.

Finding a way into a deep emotional state seems to inspire me the most. I had written a little violin riff one morning that didn't have much direction to it. That night around 12 I had just finished the season 2 finale of Rick and Morty. The (for lack of a better term) falling apart that resulted from it was enough of a push for me to develop a track. It's taken about 7-8 months to finish, but I'm happy with it.  :)

Inspiration/Creativity/Motivation / Re: THE FEELS
« on: April 23, 2016, 08:05:12 am »
worlds live was the best show I've seen so far, hands down. super curious to see where he takes his music in the future!

I've wanted to see him since Worlds dropped, and I finally got that chance in Nashville. It was as beautiful, dreamy, and emotional as I wanted it to be, and I have such high hopes for him.

As for me, Goodbye To A World gets me every time. It's so sad, but comforting and hopeful at the same time.

I would've spent more time with people and less time obsessing over my music. I went as far as going to online school in order to make more time for my music, but the isolation burnt me out where it really mattered. We find inspiration, happiness, and creativity when we invest time in people who want to invest their time in us. Now I'm too cynical, and that's something I have to break free from because I know that then I'll start moving in the right direction.
