good news:
1. first part of the drop definitely sounds marshmello inspired
2. second part of the drop definitely sounds wheathin inspired
3. good sample choice
bad news:
1. for me the bass isn't really popping through the mix
2. for me the sub bass in the break doesn't really sit well in the mix
3. at some parts between the first and second drop the lead sounded a tad too bright

shoutout to KRNE in this track lol

Shoutout to KRNE?  I used a few of his samples from that pack lol, is that what you mean?

Thanks dude, great feedback and I agree.

Kick is nice.  the beat is nice and filled.  I would watch the timbre of that bass that happens throughout, maybe slap a filter on it even that makes it more gentle at parts.  The vocal sample is a little overdone/used IMO.  Buildup is really nice.  Drop is really unique, very slick.  I think in the main drop the clap/snare could come through a little more in the higher ends, maybe add some saturation.

Really like the FX used at the beginning. Alongside the subtle synths, it sounds really nice. Absolutely gorgeous snap/clap sample used as well, and mixed very well. Sounds perfect in the mix.

Boy, the mixing on this is super solid. The kick has some nice hat work paired with it to bring out the high ends, the vocal chops are really well done with solid reverb, and there are just enough breaks to keep the beat moving, yet not too many to where it breaks the vibe.

At 1:54/1:55, the sound is so crisp it's unreal. Absolutely spot on mixing and mastering. I'm honestly not the biggest fan of the DnB percussion that begins underneath here, but it's subtle enough to where it doesn't make too much of an impact.

The synth that starts up at 2:45 I think could use some sidechaining to give it a little bit more bounce to go along with the other elements.

Incredible track though man, I'd say this one's about as close to done as it can be! You should toss me the link to the finished track when it's all done, I'd love to hear it! :)

Some wonderful feedback, I will definitely look into that sidechaining!  Thank you so much!  :)  As for the "Amen Break" drums buildup Im still on the fence about it, very good to hear your opinion on it!

Again thank you!  looking forward to completing this.

So far, nice stuff.  I think the lead gets really repetitive and old, I would try to add value to it, change it up or make it come in for a certain phrase.  I think you could beef up the sound design with some square wavetable action too.

Pleasantly surprised, lots of great elements here, the backing chords are original and well mixed from what I can tell.  I think after you throw a master on it with proper multiband compression and maybe an exciter element, and mess with stereo seperation/imaging a little more, this will sound huge.  Kick could use a little more in the 80-100 HZ area I think, and maybe less mid in them?  ALSO the big chords coming in halfway through the tune are WAY too loud in comparison.  I totally get you want that to be huge but they highs are overwhelming at least, maybe just some softer compression there or balancing it out with automation of EQ throughout the whole song.  If the actual drops were that big in the waveform and fit in a nice mix then I would be blown away.

Overall great work dude.  Keep at it!

Hi there,

I've been working on this tune and its about 25 hours in, I would love to release around the 30-35 hour mark and call it finished.  I would LOVE any feedback on mix, flow, phrasing, sound design, theory, WHATEVER.  Really I just wanna hear what people think!

Thank you so much.

WIPs / Re: Chillout Melvv/Attom style tune in progress

You've captured the style very well. I like it. A note:

- The kick needed some work. Starting at 0:39, the kick really stuck out. I don't think the kick you used suits the style. It should sound "deeper", as in, a little more going for it in the bass area (ex: Direct - Tranquility starting at 0:54. I couldn't find a more relevant example) like that. Then in the second drop (I'm just going to call it that) I was straining to hear the kick at all.

Roughly speaking, well done thus far. Nothing jumped out at me in a bad way except for the kick.

Thanks a ton!
I definitely agree. I like the kick itself but not with the style especially now that you mention it...
