The snare buildup in Amun is awesome and I want to learn how to make mine clean like this, I'm close but it doesnt sound tight I've tried using snare samples on an audio track and with an arpeggiator with automation but both don't sound clean like this. Tried lots of samples with different aspects and still same result. Help please

So I am using EQ cuts and volume adjustments, any other tips using sends compression or stereoization etc? Maybe certain plugins?
Having trouble making it all sound like one big sound without losing dynamic range

Hey there. Every synth I use (Serum, Nexus, Spire, Sylenth etc) keeps making this stupid fucking click sound even after turning on and off all the FX, playing with the envelopes, volumes, sends etc. Anyone else have this problem? It's never done this before in any of my other tracks

Using Logic Pro X

I made sure its not a flanger/phaser/chorus issue etc I have no FX turned on, I have an LFO moving the wavetable every 1/4 and it should give me a continuous sound but the harmonics seems to change slightly every time it repeats the note.

Anyone else have this issue?

Mixing/Mastering / What to use parallel compression on and what not to?
« on: August 22, 2016, 05:40:16 am »
Parallel or New York compression was shown to me recently and its really making my leads and percussion pop, but I would like to know what I can use it on to add to sounds, I can't seem to find a clear reference and I'm pretty sure I could make an educated guess as to what will help certain things or hurt them in the frequecy/stereo image ranges. Basically I would like you to answer these in your opinion if its a yes or no

Sub Bass

Midrange Gritty Bass

Plucks

Synth Chords (I'm guessing no)

Vocals

Feel free to tell me if this is a dumb question too

Can anyone give me an idea of how he made the vocals so airy and clean? I'm using valhalla vintageverb and Logic's delay plugins and can't get anywhere close

Hey so I find whenever I make a track it takes me forever to find some preset or design my own to make the gritty bass shots similar to the one on beat 1 of every bar of this track that starts at 1 min in this track. Anyone have any good recommendations for preset packs, plugins to use etc?

Thank you!!

So I have this track I'm dying to remix for a trance song. I can't find an instrumental or acapella anywhere! I inverted the R side in logics Gain AU and effectively removed most of the vocals but its not a clean enough copy to use for subtractive synthesis against the original. Any other techniques?

PLEASE help me I'm really excited about the potential this track has, if anyone is talented at this I could email you 10 bucks for a decent vocal extraction

Looking and playing around with some arps for trance production, what are your favorites? Currently I'm playing with Chthulhu and Logics native arp

Edit: I would prefer a midi fx one like chthulhu where I can route it into kontakt

Hey guys, so I've messed around with sidechain compression before and my buddy showed me a track of his where he didn't use an actual side chain compressor just Nicky Romero - Kickstart on a bus. I don't understand how he applied this and made it effect other tracks

1.Could anyone give me a quick instructional on how to set something like this up and how to apply it to the other tracks?

2. What settings with regards to volume etc do I need to apply to the kickstart bus?

3. How would you route various busses like Bass, Leads, Drums through this?

Thanks for your help!

Sound Design / Need Help with this Chord Deconstruction!!
« on: March 14, 2016, 12:54:54 pm »
Ok so Jason Ross just released a beautiful track called coaster!

What has he done to create these chords, what I'm picking up on is some sidechain compression with some reverb/delay? Can you guys help an amateur learn how to replicate that sound please? What sort of reverb/delay does he have going so it echos back at you when the chords aren't playing like that

Also If he has reverb/delay going how does he have the chords so cleanly bouncing to that rhythm?

Thanks so much for the help you guys are awesome, here is the track, drop starts at 2:37
