good news:
1. first part of the drop definitely sounds marshmello inspired
2. second part of the drop definitely sounds wheathin inspired
3. good sample choice
bad news:
1. for me the bass isn't really popping through the mix
2. for me the sub bass in the break doesn't really sit well in the mix
3. at some parts between the first and second drop the lead sounded a tad too bright

shoutout to KRNE in this track lol

Shoutout to KRNE?  I used a few of his samples from that pack lol, is that what you mean?

Thanks dude, great feedback and I agree.

The vocal lead that comes in at about 0:40 is great :)
I feel like the piano should be turned down some, or at least EQ-ed differently. The low-end on your piano sounds weird and doesn't sit right in the mix, imo. Try not to use reverb so much, the drop is caked in reverb and it's hard to distinguish what is going on and what you want to focus on in the drop. The reverb is really problematic, esp. with the snap in the drop -- I can barely hear it. Unless it's supposed to be barely audible, try gain staging the drop so that your sounds don't take away from the clarity of the snap or at least turn something down/clip your reverb or get rid of the reverb altogether.

At the end, the vocals that you're using are caked in reverb, but I can tell that you want the vocals to have a big sound. Look up self-compressed reverb and try that on the vocals so that you get the big sound but with a less muddy mix. You could also try gating the reverb so that it clips off when the reverb is at inaudible levels (the inaudible levels muddy up a mix), or parallel process the reverb with some eq (eq before reverb) so that the vocals don't get muddy in the low end.

good news:
1. cool idea with the chopped up supersaw chord you've got at the beginning
2. second part sounds nice
bad news for first part:
1. sidechaining isn't hitting that hard
2. kick is floppy and needs to be tuned, or pick a better harder kick if that's what you were going for
3. the synth lead is too repetitive
4. Use a sub alongside the bass
5. general leveling needs some work

keep it up!

all joking aside, how did you make this vaporwave track? is it mainly sample-based?

Better levels could really help out here. Instead of EQing/compressing, try to get your levels on each track sounding good before you think about EQ/compression. The song you're talking about is "test", right?

I'm in the same boat here. A week or two ago I was producing just fine. But creative ruts are all too common in my production.

Play with the formant on your pitch-shift plugin. Duplicate the transposed vocal and transpose it an octave up (remember to keep the pitched-up vocal in time with the pitched-down vocal). Since you're in Ableton you can also pitch down a warped vocal with the complex warp mode on.
