WIPs / Re: Trap/Future/ProgHouse blend

Thx for the encouraging Feedback. Yeah I'm really working on trying to make my Sounds sound "richer", have been trying out some stuff with Saturators recently. But I'll try to use the tips you gave me.
Btw I commented on your own WIP, really digging it.  :)

I really love the Sound of your piano. Also the Piano Riff starting at 2:10 is really cool, it better not be a Sample ;)
I don't like the Bass Sound starting at 3:03, just doesn't fit the track imo.
Generally I really like your idea, but like many other Producers it's lacking that one special thing that would make you really stand out. I can't tell you what tough, I'm still looking for it in my own music...

WIPs / Trap/Future/ProgHouse blend

Hey my fellow Producers!

Was trying to mix a few of my different Genres in this one. I'm still very early in my learning stage of producing, so I'd really like honest Feedback, be as hard with me as you can because I really want to improve as much as I can.
Would especially like tips on Mixing better. :)

Love the plucky Synth at the Start. Also pretty great Mixdown, would love to be as good as you already.  :-[ :D Also love the random Sample like the loud "Snap" at 2:39.
Not completely in love with the arrangement tough. The tension that you build up when opening the filter of the Supersaw is great, but the more silent part after that is simply against my personal taste.

Samples/Plugins/Software/Gear / Noob Logic Pro X question
« on: March 19, 2016, 12:36:49 pm »
In Tutorials of FL Studio, Producers always seem to have their Sample Libray (for example Drum Samples) in a library inside FL Studio, so if they're for example looking for a good Snare they just go through their Libraries and try out the ones in their Library. Like this Video the first 30 seconds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1jCNhQGgFM

What is the fastest way in Logic Pro X to do this? I know EXS24, but imo it's way too slow to put Samples in there, or am I doing something wrong? What's the fastest way in Logic to try out Drum Samples?

Mixing/Mastering / Putting Elements in their Place
« on: March 15, 2016, 10:02:10 pm »
Hey my Producer Friends:)

A thing that I'm still heavily struggling with is how to put different elements of my tracks in the right "place". I'm familiar with panning and stereo imaging a little bit, but I also wanted to ask for other useful tips. One thing for example that I read in this forum that I found to be a great tip was to high cut the reverb of a sound in order to put it more in the background of the song. (If that's right^^) As you can see, I'm clearly a beginner and any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated!

The Intro felt so clean and energetic, but I don't like the Drop too much tbh. It's a little bit too generic for my taste and also the mix is way muddier than in the Intro. But the as I said, I really like the basic idea of the Intro and I'd highly recommend starting it over!

What I like:
-First Drop, especially the sharp Lead Synth in it
-the fast arp in the buildup before the 2nd Drop
-the chords you used in the 2nd verse in the beginning

What I don't like:
-I know you wanted to sth different in the 2nd Drop... I personally don't like it, but I for example also don't like the Drop in Jack U's Where are you now that many consider genius, it's just my taste I guess
-the heavily detuned Synth-Chords from 0:25 on, way too much detuning imo

Generally I'd try to make it a little more "different" from the original, but other than that it's pretty good :)

The mixdowns of Grey are SOOOOOO fuckin' sick. Because it's clearly Grey, sry Zedd but it's just way too obvious^^

Does this Method work in Logic Pro X as well? I'm not that experienced of a producer, and I'm not exactly familiar with what a tremolo is.

Thanks for the answers so far.
Guess I'm gonna keep playing around with Envelopes and LFOs. ;D

Sound Design / Automating your Chords ("Future Bass Type")
« on: January 18, 2016, 09:42:13 pm »
I've been a lot into "Wheathin" lately. What I was wondering for a longer time now, is how he is automating his Chords in the Drop of his Song "Mssingo - XE3 (Wheathin Turn)". The rythmic flow of the Chords is really unusual. I was wondering if he created it with a Plugin like "Volume Shaper" or maybe just automating the Sound with an LFO and than changing the rates with automation over time. I'm really doubting the LFO one, because of how offbeat parts of the Drop are.
Another example would be "It's Strange" by "Louis The Child".

If anyone could help me out here that would be hugely appreciated!

Sound Design / Madeon "Funky Slappy Bass"
« on: January 10, 2016, 03:51:48 pm »
As the title already says, does anybody know how how Madeon creates his "funky and slappy" Basses?
I really have no idea how he does it (I'm not producing for too long), and I didn't find any Tutorials on youtube so I'm counting on your help. :)
