it subjective I guess.
the lowcut of around 20 - 30hz is because producing in a bedroom you don't know what is going on down here - your speakers / space will not give an accurate representation and also humans cant really hear below 20hz - a lot below 30hz depending on ones hearing. the only time you will ever feel these sub frequencies is on huge systems.
The high cut personally I do between 18Khz and 20Khz just to get rid of the super super sharp sounds up the top end. This cutoff point is subjective again because everyone hears different but anything from say 18Khz and up is really sharp to the ear and you have to decide if the range is actually adding anything. Information this high up the spectrum can often be more of an annoyance than actually sonically adding anything to your track.
