The themes are cool. I'd say you have to decide if the drums are going to take a back seat or a front seat. Either make them smaller and glitchy, and bring them up front and make them punch.It can be both, I think. You evidently like evolving waveforms. You can make the drums evolve from lighter to aggressive. I see this track like a harder version of this:
My preference for this track would be to keep it laid back and ambient. My 2¢.
your link did not work.UGH. Sorry. It's up now. ;
The beat is pretty solid! I would say that although you want the focus to be on the lead, you should still have some minor background notes to complement the lead; otherwise, it could end up sounding empty.Thanks
not sure if youre working on the mix or not yet but theres very little atmosphere to these instruments. A bit of reverb and stereo placement could really open up this track and give it its own "space." I like the organic sounds and think a flute would sound really nice in there just as long as the melodies arent overlapping to much. Maybe make the flute counter the existing melodies so they play off each otherYes, I definitely agree with the lack of atmosphere. I guess I overdid the narrowing the instruments's stereo placing. My kick and snare weren't really popping out. Then I ducked the whole thing using them. Guess I can open up the instruments and really crank up the reverb/ stereo imaging.
