Mostly done but open to suggestions. Seems private URLs do not work with the SC button.

Enjoy.

You're good, you.

This is a pretty good track. Don't know the original. Having said that, I would tone down the chord stabs that play when the vocal chops do, to give a sense of hierarchy between them. These sounds compete with each other right now.

I would also revise the arrangement. Perhaps add another moment -  a climax would be ideal. 3 -mostly- identical buildups and drops is a bit much. I know you added a couple extra hats here and there but to me that isn't quite enough to make the track truly explode. I can see an epic synth line or a moombahton dembow adding a lot to that final minute.

Either that or cut the track to 2:30, which isn't unheard of on radio edits.

Hey Terry,
Solid effort.
Improve recording conditions for clarity. Track needs more ear candy i.e. fx. Finally, some more progressiveness to the arrangement- too much contrast between big drops and airy verses.

So I just came up with this.

All I used was Reason 7.5. Hope y'all like it :)

If you follow the WIP forum, this track isn't exactly new to you.
Thanks to everyone who provided advice :D

So here's a remix I made:

I chopped up the vocals and changed the meaning of the original track.

So...here's a revised version of the track, now with more flute and perc.

The themes are cool. I'd say you have to decide if the drums are going to take a back seat or a front seat. Either make them smaller and glitchy, and bring them up front and make them punch.

My preference for this track would be to keep it laid back and ambient. My 2¢.
It can be both, I think. You evidently like evolving waveforms. You can make the drums evolve from lighter to aggressive. I see this track like a harder version of this:

UGH. Sorry. It's up now.  ;:)

#GenresAreForConsumers? Damn son, now that is a strong-ass HT.

Since you asked for arrangement tips: I could suggest an ostinato riff or drum that kept on reminding you this wild varying-tempo blast wave is actually the same track. Something in line with the original drum pattern of Weekend would be ideal :)

WIPs / Re: Eastern saxophone trap - WIP

Are you looking for advice in a specific area? Since you said this was mostly done, I am assuming you aren't changing much of the track...

Right off the bat, i have two arrangement suggestions - the intro could be a little gentler, no need to rush things, especially when using two or three melodic phrases at once. Also the outro is a little abrupt, especially with all of the drama and big sounds used across the entire track.

While the plucked instrument and sax play each other off well, they could use a little more contrast. Perhaps a little EQ ing to the string would make the sax come alive.

The beat is pretty solid! I would say that although you want the focus to be on the lead, you should still have some minor background notes to complement the lead; otherwise, it could end up sounding empty.
Thanks :) - Yes, hence the flute. Will add.

not sure if youre working on the mix or not yet but theres very little atmosphere to these instruments. A bit of reverb and stereo placement could really open up this track and give it its own "space." I like the organic sounds and think a flute would sound really nice in there just as long as the melodies arent overlapping to much. Maybe make the flute counter the existing melodies so they play off each other
Yes, I definitely agree with the lack of atmosphere. I guess I overdid the narrowing the instruments's stereo placing. My kick and snare weren't really popping out. Then I ducked the whole thing using them. Guess I can open up the instruments and really crank up the reverb/ stereo imaging.
