Thanks a lot.

I'm a huge fan of tribal ethnic sounds, TAIKO drums (that snare), and eastern sounds. Shimmery stuff.

Funny you bring up the vocalist, totally agree. I have a few friends who are vocalists. I'm picking up a new 9-5 job, so as soon as the income starts coming in i'lll get a vocal setup and start having fun with that.

Great to hear bro! Look forward to hearing more. Peace

Yeah bro this bangs!! I agree with "Some Dude", that growl bass needs to cut through your chest  :o lol. Maybe Separate it on two octaves and add harsh distortion/bitcrush/saturation etc to the higher bass frequency. Just an idea...

Great track anyhow!

This is great, the effects throughout the track are amazing.  A lot of really nice elements running through it.

Thanks for sharing with us!  8)

Thank you dude! I'm happy you enjoyed  ;D ;D

Very nice track mate :) ! But is the vocal not to loud ? (and maybe cut some low freq). That's one thing I noticed. Keep this good work :)

Ah vocals are my weak point lol. Can never tell how loud/quiet they should be. I'll have a look in to that along with the low frequencies. Cheers!

Hey,

I song write and produce, looking to release two tracks in Q1 of 2016. I know there is some great talent on this forum so would be cool if you could lend me your ears :P .

I'll link the the first song and depending on whether I get a response or not lol, I'll upload the second one this week also.

I think TwoFiveFour has hit the nail on the head in the last 2 paragraphs.

Its a good concept, I hear exactly what you're going for but its not "popping". The thing that makes Trap EDM bang is that pumping 808 kick and snare.

YouTube is your friend lol. So many tutorials on there.

Also try layering the horns, 3 separate tracks one low mid (300-800hz), one mid (800-2500Khz), and one high mid(2500-6000Khz) all playing the same melody, this will reinforce the melody and fill up the frequency spectrum.

This is a really useful chart regarding instruments and frequencies - http://i.imgur.com/aCwvAgv.jpg

Hope that helps.

This is fresh dude, really like knock on the snare, what sample is that?

Great progression and arrangement as well, I think my one critique would be maybe you could strip it back slightly and get a vocalist to sing a melody over this instrumental, I think what makes artist like Odesza, and Flume shine amongst other artist of this genre is they work with some great song writers as well.

I'm really digging your sound bro, would love to talk production techniques with you!

That's just my two pence (I'm English lol)

Hope that helped.

Krane really hit the nail on the head.  I bought it too for iPad, it is definitely good for learning basics and how to read their platform.  I wish it taught popular chord progressions in minor though, I only recall learning major progressions

If you want to learn popular chord progressions in minor they are relatively the same. All you need to do is lower the 3rd interval on every Major key. The second chord in the minor scale becomes a diminished and the 6th and 7th chords become flat Majors.

e.g. C Major scale in chords is C Major (C E G), D minor (D F A), E minor (E G B), F Major (F A C), G Major (G B D), A minor (A C E), B diminished (B D F),

C minor scale - C minor (C Eb G), D diminished ( D F Ab), Eb Major(Eb G Bb), F minor (F Ab C), G minor (G Bb D), Ab Major (Ab C Eb), Bb Major (Bb D F)

So a 1 - 4 - 5 progression in C major & C minor would both be C F G but the only difference is you lower the 3rd interval of each chord when playing in a minor key.

This would then change harmonies and melodies ect...

Hope that helped somewhat dude. And if you already knew all this stuff then... :P

Peace
