What piano is that, it is beautiful.

However, getting that "hey man, this song bangs" complement certainly would improve my morale in terms of sticking with making music.

Praise bro!!! I love getting that I have only been producing for around a year and I absolutely love getting those. but i love the track man, the clap is a little loud like RxD but you have a lot of potential!

I'm not much of a trance guy but the kick that starts at 1:27 doesn't fit in to me. I don't really know but I like it!

I feel like the bass at the drop is overpowering the kick especially. but overall really good track I like it!

Inspiration/Creativity/Motivation / Re: What/Who inspired you to start?
« on: January 09, 2016, 05:36:33 am »
This is gonna sound cheesy, and weird but Sweet Nothing - Calvin Harris about a year and a half ago, I mostly listened to classic rock and then I found out about Sweet Nothing by Calvin Harris and I was amazed at how fun this music was. I immediately wanted to start producing, little did I know, I met Calvin Harris later that year, meeting your inspiration was amazing. But oh well that was old Calvin, I am not such a big fan of his current music, but hey, we gotta start somewhere right?

In this forum, (might sound geeky) but it actually makes me feel that I can actually succeed. I have thought of giving up so many times out of frustration because I felt like I was not creative/good enough. But since posting my WIP's and receiving good feedback it made me feel good about myself. I would just like to say that and I hope you guys do also. Thank you for inspiring me to continue.

Love it man keep up the great work! But I agree about the kick in the second drop, it doesn't fit in too well but other than that it is still an amazing track!

I love the fills and diversity in your drop! I like it though I am around the same time producing as you, we'll be pros someday!!  ;D

Sound Design / Bass like Vicetone, or Dubvision?
« on: January 06, 2016, 08:49:47 pm »
I have always looked for how to get that perfect bass behind the leads like Dubvision or Vicetone.
( https://soundcloud.com/nickyromero/nicky-romero-vicetone-let-me-feel-ft-when-we-are-wild-available-october-6 ) 1:52
( https://soundcloud.com/dubvisionmusic/dubvision-turn-it-around-ultra-2015-instrumental-edit ) 1:38

I have found similar basses but none that fit with the song as of right now. I know this is really generic and noobish but I would love some help. Thank you! (:

@Mushroomizer I will start doing that thank you for the heads up!

@Shew, I have KRK Rokit 6's and for headphones are the Pioneer HDJ-500's. That was what I could afford with my budget.

@Polymetric it's good knowing there is hope. I have had so many times I had wanted to give up but I never will, this is my dream and I will work hard till I get it. Thank you!

@Simon The watching videos part was me around the first 6 months, I have laid off on the videos for a while just practicing but I still don't get it. But the reference track option is a really good thing and I will try it out. Thank you for the tip!

@br305893 Thank you! I honestly still don't know when I have the perfect mix, like I can't recognize it.

Mixing/Mastering / I can't figure it out and it is frustrating.
« on: January 06, 2016, 02:22:39 am »
I've been producing for around a year now and I really cannot figure it out. I watch so many tutorials on youtube for mix, I try to remake songs, still sounds bad. I finally think I have a good mixdown and in my ears it sounds good but since I clearly do not know how to recognize a good mix, it ends up being just another shitty mix. I can't figure it out and I really need help and tips, not just another youtube video telling me to control every little thing on the mixer for one specific song. Thank you! (:
