Hey guys I am wondering what you guys do to side chain the low end of a bass but not the mids. Currently Im making 2 layers of an audio effect rack in ableton and do a high and low pass filter cutting off at around 300 hz. This works pretty well but the bass isn't as punchy now.

Damn for your second track this is really good. some things to keep in mind:
You want to give your lead an epic feel especially in trance. Give it reverb and give it the most reverb out of anything in the mix.
Kicks are important but don't need to be as loud as they are. Take down the volume of the kick and turn down the compression a bit.
The general mix could be improved but there is a lot to learn about that.
No matter what your making, give yourself plenty of headroom. you don't have to be at 0db when mixing the track that is usually saved until the master.
Overall you have a lot to improve but your doing well for how new you are to this.

Sounds great. One thing I will say is bring up the lead during the drop its extremely catchy it will sound better if it is more apparent then the bass/pad you have.

Sounds very good. I recommend extending the intro a bit and dropping a few slices of the drop bass just so that the transition is easier for the listener.

Links dead. Is it a private track? If it is than you have to use the share button to copy the link properly

Love the sound, great atmosphere and the mix sounds perfect. the melody felt a little bit repetitive I haven't heard the original so I don't know if it was a stem from that but I wanted it to be longer and more complex.
Overall great job though keep up the good work.

I like it a lot, few things first the piano at the start seems a little flat and boring might want to change the sound of it. Second, the beat change at about 1:08 felt repetitive, melodic dubstep should change often even if its between 2 or 3 different patterns. My ears wanted to hear the chords and melody to change with the faster beat. That way when you go back to the first beat the slow melody chords and drums sound crazy good.
Great start tho keep up the good work.

This is the updated mix from all the feedback you guys gave me.
This will be the final or second to last version, depending on this feedback, before I send it out.
Thanks,

Like everyone else said do a drop. Get a chord progression together and I would recommend a really wide saw wave synth and maybe some glide between notes. Add a bass and a sub to really fill the entire spectrum.

You have something really promising hear keep it up!

Sound really good great song design all around Really liking the different kinds of modulation. You might want to make the beginning sub fade in to give it a more building feel. Its a bit hard for listeners to start be maxed out at 0db.

Sounds good, clearly its are intentionally chill and everything matches that well. You might want to try to re create the pluck because  the filtering as it fades in doesn't work as well as automating the plucks cutoff would.
Nice overall song tho. Really like the effects on the 'are you there' sample

The sound design is amazing. I really like the noise vocoding you did on the voice. It really builds tention naturally without being in your face about it. On thing I will say is the bit crunched bass is a bit too intense and therefore a bit distracting turn that effect down and this will be great.

Edit: the best way to describe this is cinematic.

Great vibe to the track. Few things, add a bit of a release to the pad it will fill the empty space without making the mix muddy like extra reverb would. I would also like to hear the pad reintroduced later in the song or add a completely new element. The second drum section feels pretty empty. Overall really good start.
Keep up the good work

This is really mind blowing dude. The vibe is great but it could use something to fill the space maybe a bit more reverb on some parts or all, not sure tho. If your thinking about submitting this anywhere I personally think this is Bitbird worthy.
