Try working on another idea with a different sound or genre to keep your mind fresh, sometimes you just need a break from this project so you start something new and the come back to it after a couple of days.

Dave Parkinson's Freshly Squeezed pack is said to be one of the best "if not the best" sample packs ever made, approved by Armin, Simon Patterson, Bryan Kearney & more. It is about 13 gb of samples + banks

GET AN AUDIO INTERFACE.
All you really need is an interface.

I'm gonna add to this, any decent PC with enough of RAM and a great audio interface will do wonders for you.

I've been working on the same mid-2012 macbook 13" and only just recently upgraded my ram and hard drive a few months ago from 4GB to 8GB and I've almost never had a project crash on me since then. If you have a decent interface to do all the thinking for your audio apart from just your PC will help a lot too. This is just my experience. Most of my VSTs are very CPU/RAM hungry..

The interface part is really important though.
Can you guys suggest an Audio Interface for me?

Kind of surprised to see you say it starts to get choppy on you with even smaller projects, since you're on AMD processor that's more powerful than mine. Do you do anything to maximize your processing power during a session?
There isn't usually too much happening in my projects since i'm still learning, maybe 20 or 30 layers with 3-4 Sylenth1, some automations and loads of effects in the mixer from eq to reverb and more. A friend told me that it might be a problem in the installation of the drivers so i'll try installing everything again.

If you're looking to upgrade or to buy a new computer, i would recommend you build it yourself. that way, you'll know what you have and you'll also be able to upgrade it if required.

here's specs for an ultimate Desktop PC for music and games It's a bit long but, it's very helpfull ;) (made by Kerosyn):
Kit's Ultimate Guide to building your Perfect Desktop PC
Read everything, and you'll know everything you need ;).
That's exactly what i did 2 months ago, i just took a little risk by getting an AMD processor instead of intel due to the huge price difference. Lately, my DAW started crackling in projects that aren't that big so i'm afraid i've taken the wrong decision.

I've an intel, and no problem. Yeah intel is better for producing.
Yes i know, not sure why it's better because my AMD FX 8530 runs 8 cores and 16 MB cache, and it's half the price of the i7 4790k

Hey guys! I just want to know the specs of your music production device and if it is working good for you, and if there is any tricks to get the most out of it.
Also, are you using it for music production only or storing other different things on it?

I used to think that you 'should' add something new every 8 bars, but then i discovered a techno track in Richie Hawtin's latest compilation that is 16 minutes!! Only dark groove and acids, there's nothing much happening but i enjoyed every single bit of it. This taught me a great lesson that if you find a part interesting you can stretch it as long as you want, if you can listen to this part for 1 minute without waiting for something new then go for it! "Pro Default" and "Pro Transient" are both settings that tend to retain the samples pitch when stretched in FL's sampler
I can't find them, are you sure they're in FL 12?
Positive. In your FL's sampler there's a section called "Time Stretching" It'll have a drop down menu titled "mode" it'll usually say "Auto" or "Resample" by default - click that drop down menu and select Pro Default, etc.
I tried but i can only see resample, e3 generic and other stuff but no pro default

What version of FL Studio are you running?

Are you using some other sort of sampler than the default fruity sampler - like DirectWave or something?
No i'm using the normal sampler, FL 12.1 "The one with mixer slots numbers in the sequencer"

Gotcha, well I just figured out that FL decided to change the title of Pro Default and pro-Transient to "e2 generic" - e3 generic simply being a newer version of that algorithm it seems. So e3 should be what you're looking for.

for further information about the sampler, read this: https://www.image-line.com/support/FLHelp/html/chansettings_sampler.htm
Thanks for your help man, appreciate it!

I know pitching it will stretch it, but not sure if that's the best way...
Yes i know this but it will change the sound and the pitch of the sample

But that will change the pitch, i want to stretch the sound itself without changing it
