Samples/Plugins/Software/Gear / Novation Launchkey & Launch Control
« on: November 05, 2016, 09:11:02 am »
Hello!

I've been searching for a MIDI Controller for some time now, and after weeks of searching and reading reviews i thought the Launchkey 49 is the best for me. However, while searching for it, i found about the Launch Control and i really liked it. The question is, is there a point in buying both? I mean, the Launchkey already has 8 knobs, 8 faders & 16 pads, do i really need the Launch Control?

Depends on your budget, but the best choice is to build your own PC. Also, you can save alot of money buying an AMD FX-8350 processor for less than half the price of an Intel processor of the same specs, i've been using it for about a year now and it's great. Add 8/16 GB of RAM, a 7200 RPM HDD and a quiet fan, and you have a great PC.

Don't take this the wrong way, but did you get your copy legitimately? If you pirated it, there's a good chance it's just not gonna work. Consider saving up and buying a version of Lite!

If you got your copy legit, then we'll need much more information than "You've tried everything". What OS are you using? What version of Ableton Live are you using? What troubleshooting steps have you tried?
Yes I downloaded the trial version of Live 9 on Windows 7

It works with Ableton Live, Reason, Cubase, FL Studio, Logic Pro, and Pro Tools
It's mainly for Ableton but there is something called In-Control that is used to use the controls in other DAWs, but i can't quite understand this feature.

Another question, is it compatible with other DAWs or just Ableton Live?

Hello!

I've been thinking about buying a MIDI Controller lately, so i searched and read the reviews and i think the Launchkey 49 is the best in this price range. Does anybody have any experience with it?

Mixing/Mastering / Bouncing stems.
« on: April 09, 2016, 12:54:38 am »
Hey everyone!

I have 2 questions regarding this topic:

1- Is there an easy way to bounce stems in FL Studio?
2- Is it better to bounce them to WAV or Mp3?

Look into pre and post settings on your busses....

every one suggested how to shape the reverb and not give it more of a depth perspective....

pre and post settings on your busses will do that for you.

ie, giving you a better control over the amount of wet, the input, and the balance between those two signals in the mix environment.
I'm not very sure what you mean with Pre & Post settings, can you explain more?

That's actually very nice. Sounds like something that would be played on FSOE or something.

Comments:
1- The intro is a bit too harsh and doesn't fit with the vibe of the track. "You can save the acid line and use it as a drop in another project, an acid trance one for example"
2- Lower the volume of the white noise in the drop, you can also cut a bit of the high frequencies. It's too much.

Overall nice work!

Besides lowering the volume. Cut the high end of the sound in combination with putting reverb over the ARP or whatever sound you want to place in the back of your mix.
Thanks for helping, appreciated!

Use reverb and cut off high end works for me :) Creates a "far away" effect in the mix.
Cut the high end of the reverb or the sound itself?

I don't know if there is a certain technique to do that, but how can i place some backing sounds "Like arps for example" back in the mix so they don't clash with the main melody?

Try a compressor on the Master bus, it can help.

Are there any specific websites to download vocal samples? I've been searching for some trippy vocal samples (Like psytrance ones) for some time now and i can't find anything good, any suggestions?
