I source remix contests for Splice and voting does not matter at all. Every remix/submission is heard in our competitions (whether by the label, artist, or Splice bros). None of our winners have been in the 'top 10' and were often submitted just before closing or low in the 'charts.' It's important to the label & artist to really find their favorite submission because they'll be promoting or officially releasing it. I believe voting/follow-to-download systems are gimmicky. We're exploring solutions and algorithms that can mitigate cheating with voting as well. If you guys have suggestions to improve remix contests or questions let me know!

Yaaaa I agree with North Mark. All he is actually doing is automating the volume which could be done in so many ways.

So if you go into gross beat, under the patterns section (Which is usually the default selection, but if it isn't then click the drop down arrow and under presets select patterns). In the bottom half where the sidechain is there should also be two called 'Tremolo Fast' & 'Tremolo Slow'. I can't remember off the top of my head, they may be abbreviated to something like 'Trmw Slw' I'm not sure. These put a basic tremolo on and you can then adjust the timing and the amount it takes out!

I was recently listening to San Holo's BBC1 XTRA initiation mix while revising and it really inspired me. The music he makes is so unique, so euphoric & thought-provoking and made me desperate to finish exams and get back in the studio.

Any body else found any mixes that do the same for them?

Don't know if its been suggested before but a simple mobile app that allows you to view topics and reply to posts would be very handy!
